We love the way your eye is drawn down to the bottom of the room where this open shower has been positioned.

Normally this is the space where a bath would go but if you only have a small space and never use a bath then this is a great idea.

This is a sleek modern look which would probably be more suited to a modern home but styled differently would work in any house.

However if you are planning on selling, and your home is more suited to a family then they do tend to like having a bath - small children tend to be bathed rather than showered - so do your homework first but if you are planning on staying for a longer period then go for it.

Texture is a really big trend for the bathroom at the moment but it is not for the faint-hearted!

By combining glass, wood and industrial elements it really creates that wow factor.

The perfect place to try it would be the downstairs loo and once you have fallen in love with the trend you can try it out in your main bathroom.

Lighting in a bathroom is important especially around the mirror.

We love this trio of lights on a copper backing - they look so trendy but would fit into almost any scheme.

As you can see in this image a vanity unit has been fitted to house the worktop and sink which creates a nice corner to display plants, a place for the towel to be close at hand and a tray of toiletries.

It is space saving, provides storage but also adds a pop of colour to your bathroom.

If you haven't got space for a work top then having a handy draw like this under your sink is a must have.

For all lovers of modern, sleek and minimalism then this is definitely one for you.

These sleek white units provide storage and almost melt into the white walls.

For some this will seem too clinical so you could add pops of colour with flooring, tiles, plants, towels and pictures. Adding in these elements will change the look.

Having all white units and walls may seem boring but you can change the colours with the above accessories as often as you want and create a new look each time.

If you have a small bathroom then it is essential that you have storage so that everything can be put away rather than having it cluttered on a work surface or shelf.

This handy unit is small enough for the tiniest of bathrooms but also provides plenty of storage and keeps it close to hand too.

This beautiful natural stone sink is not only durable but gives you a starting point on which to base your bathroom.

You could keep to neutral tones for everything else, like walls, tiles and flooring or go completely opposite and add colour.

Sit it atop a lovely worktop in a contrasting shade and it really will be the star of the show.

We love this look - its a subtle green shall we say!

The marble effect panel on the walls looks great, easy to maintain too as no grout!

This is very much a natural theme so plants will look great here.

Natural wood could be added too to enhance the scheme.
