ICKLEFORD PROJECT — DAY 1

A new DIAD Bespoke Garden Room is underway in Ickleford.

Today was all about getting the bones of the building right. The concrete base is in, timber has arrived and the main framework is already taking shape.

We always say the parts you eventually can’t see are just as important as the finished room. A solid base, proper timber construction and doing things correctly from day one is what gives you a garden room that’s genuinely built to last.

This one is going to be a beauty.

We’ll be posting an update every day of the build, showing exactly how we take it from an empty space in the garden to the finished DIAD room.

While the Monster Build continues in Hitchin… another DIAD project begins a few miles down the road. 👀

We’re in Ickleford for the next one, with the lads from Just Perfection Paving getting the reinforced concrete base installed while our team keeps things moving over in Hitchin.

Multiple projects. One standard.

Rain or shine, the monster build moves on. 🌧️

Back in Hitchin and we’re moving onto the next stage of this 10.5m x 3m bespoke garden room.

Today’s delivery from Jewson’s: plasterboard, plaster and insulation ready for the internal works to continue.

The exterior has taken shape. Now it’s all about what’s happening inside — and with around 30m² of internal space, there’s plenty of it. 👀

This has been a serious build from day one, and there’s still plenty more to come.

From an unused corner of the garden… to a bespoke home office built around exactly what this family needed. 👌

This Biggleswade project started with the removal of a cherry tree and stump — and ended with a fully finished home office, complete with a separate dedicated storage room.

Finished in Boothbay Blue Hardie® Plank, with anthracite uPVC windows, doors and roofline, the result is smart, practical and built for year-round use.

And the feedback makes it even better:

Apparently, Stephanie’s son is also still asking when Lee and the rest of the “men-men” are coming back. 😂
