What a difference. 👀

This bathroom in Stocksbridge has had a complete transformation — stripped right back and rebuilt into a much cleaner, brighter and more modern space.

The old bathroom was tired and dated, so everything was taken back before the new layout and finishes went in properly. New bath, shower, sanitaryware, tiling, flooring, lighting and storage have completely changed the feel of the room.

It’s now lighter, sharper and much easier to live with — and a good example of just how much difference a full bathroom renovation can make.

If your bathroom is ready for the same sort of transformation, Plumb ’n’ Tile covers Sheffield, Stocksbridge and surrounding areas.

Something I seem to be doing more and more lately — rectifying someone else’s plumbing work.

This customer called me in after having a new toilet unit with a flush plate fitted. The toilet had been left operational, but the installation itself was completely unfinished.

The issue was that the wrong concealed cistern had been supplied, so it was never going to be finished properly as it stood.

Once the correct cistern was fitted, I was able to complete the installation as it should have been done in the first place.

Another job put right and, most importantly, a very happy customer. 👍

New bathroom project underway… and I found this hiding underneath the shower tray. 👀

An isolation valve had been fitted for the shower, which would normally be a good thing.

The problem? It had been installed underneath the shower tray with absolutely no way of getting to it.

So when it eventually seized solid, the only way to access it was to completely remove the shower tray.

If you’re fitting an isolation valve, it needs to be somewhere that can actually be reached if there’s ever a problem. A lever valve is also a much better option as they’re easier to operate and far less likely to seize up.

It’s the stuff you don’t see in a finished bathroom that can cause the biggest headaches later on.

This one is now stripped back and ready to be put right properly. 👍

Last week I said small plumbing jobs were welcome…

They still are. 😂

But bathrooms are where Plumb 'n' Tile really comes into its own. PLUS! The bloke you see is the bloke you get!

I have been fitting bathrooms across Sheffield and beyond for 20 years, and there’s something very satisfying about taking an old, tired bathroom and completely transforming it.

So, if you've been staring at yours thinking “we really need to do something with this…” — now might be a good time to start planning.

From ripping out the old bathroom to the final finishing touches, I can take care of the whole job — plumbing, tiling, fitting and everything in between.

And the bathrooms on this poster? They're my actual work. No glossy catalogue photos or suspiciously perfect AI bathrooms. 😁

🚽 The Smallest Room... But One of the Biggest Transformations

People often think a small toilet or cloakroom renovation is a quick job.

In reality, these can be some of the most awkward and time-consuming projects because there's so little room to work.

This one was worth every minute.

From start to finish, this Sheffield cloakroom renovation completely transformed the space into a bright, modern room that's both practical and stylish.

It's proof that even the smallest room in the house can make a big impression.

🚿 Hidden Water Damage Behind a Shower

Not every plumbing job starts with a planned bathroom renovation.

On this project, cracked tiles behind a folding shower seat had allowed water to slowly seep into the wall over time.

The shower area had only been installed around three years ago, but the gradual water ingress had already caused significant damage – even affecting the carpets in the two adjoining rooms.

Unfortunately, because the damage happened gradually, the homeowner's insurance didn't cover the repairs.

It's a good reminder that cracked grout or damaged tiles in a shower should never be ignored. Small cracks can allow water behind the tiles, leading to expensive repairs that aren't always obvious until it's too late.

If you've noticed cracked grout, loose tiles or signs of damp in your bathroom, it's worth getting them checked before a small problem becomes a much bigger one.
