Another great, sunny morning of training 👏🏼

We recently delivered our Highfield Level 1 Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) course, helping participants build a better understanding of fire risks, prevention and the role everyone plays in keeping workplaces safe.

It’s great to see people taking the time to develop their knowledge, ask questions and leave with practical skills they can take straight back into the workplace.

It’s great to see another milestone reached on the Loudwater Viaduct project 👏🏼

After more than a year of planning and design development for VolkerLaser alongside the team at Infrastructure Site Services (ISS), it’s incredibly rewarding to see Phase 1 complete and the design now progressing on site.

Projects of this scale rely on strong collaboration and plenty of engineering input long before the physical work begins.

Seeing that work come to life is always one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

A big congratulations to the ISS team on reaching this milestone, and thank you to everyone involved for the continued collaboration throughout the project so far.

We’re looking forward to continuing our support as the project moves into Phase 2 and seeing the scheme progress over the coming months 💚

It’s always rewarding to see a project progressing well on site 👏🏼

We’ve been supporting JJ Scaffolding with the scaffold design for this project, and it’s great to see the solution taking shape exactly as planned.

One of the most satisfying parts of what we do is watching the work that happens behind the scenes during the design stage become a safe, practical structure that supports the team on site.

A big credit to everyone at JJ Scaffolding for the quality of the build and the progress being made, particularly in the recent heat. Their commitment to delivering the project safely and to a high standard has been great to see.

A very wet, but very good day with the Creator team 💚

Our summer do with the team at Creator Scaffold Designs helped to get everyone out of the usual work environment, spend some quality time together and, inevitably, get very wet in the process 😂

There’s more to a strong team than the work we do together. Getting to know each other outside of the office, having a laugh and sharing a few experiences goes a long way.

A big thank you to Lost Earth Adventures for putting us through our paces and giving us a brilliant day out.

Nobody stayed dry for more than five minutes, but we definitely had a good time!

Looking forward to the next one 💪🏼

A scaffold drawing can show you what something looks like...

It doesn’t necessarily tell you whether the solution is right.

Design involves much more than producing a set of drawings. It means understanding the loads involved, how the structure will behave, what could go wrong and whether the proposed solution is appropriate for the conditions it will face.

Software can help with that process, but it doesn’t replace engineering judgement.

When a design is challenged, someone needs to be able to explain why the decisions were made and demonstrate that the risks were properly considered.

That’s the difference between producing a drawing and taking responsibility for a design.

The drawing is the output. The engineering is everything that sits behind it 💪🏼

What does a LiDAR scan actually give you?

At Creator Surveying, we offer LiDAR surveying services, providing highly accurate digital capture of buildings, structures, terrain and complex environments 🙌🏼

LiDAR technology enables us to capture complex geometry, existing conditions and difficult-to-access areas with survey-grade accuracy, helping to support design coordination, planning, asset management and project decision-making.

Registered point clouds and digital models can provide a detailed record of site conditions, reducing uncertainty and improving project understanding.

The video here shows a LiDAR scan of the built scaffold installation at Floors Castle, demonstrating the level of detail that can be captured once a project has been constructed.

The scan creates an accurate digital record of both the historic structure and the scaffold installation, providing valuable information for project documentation, future planning and asset records.

The Floors Castle project involved extensive restoration works around a complex historic structure and has since been shortlisted for Design of the Year at the NASC Scaffolding Excellence Awards, making it a fantastic example of innovative engineering and modern survey technology working together 🤝🏼

What are people actually struggling with at the moment?

That’s probably the question we’ll be asking the most at ScaffEx26 🤝🏼

Every year, we see the conversations differ. On one project it’s programme pressure, the next it’s access constraints, digital surveys, temporary works or finding a practical way around a problem that wasn’t obvious at the planning stage.

Those conversations are often where the best ideas come from 💪🏼
