The August Bank Holiday is almost here! ☀️

Our office will be closed on Monday 31st August, reopening as normal on Tuesday 1st September.

What went into the £1.5m transformation of one of Sheffield’s longest-standing youth clubs?

Earlier this year, Double Six Youth Club in Woodseats reopened following a major refurbishment, with Creative Building Projects acting as main contractor.

The project involved a complete transformation of the building and surrounding site, including:

▪️ Full internal and external refurbishment
▪️ Complete internal strip-out and fit-out
▪️ New M&E installations throughout
▪️ Renewable energy upgrades
▪️ Re-roofing and repointing
▪️ New windows and doors
▪️ Full external landscaping
▪️ A new MUGA pitch

Behind the finished result was a challenging build.

The tight site and busy Woodseats location required careful coordination of deliveries and waste removal, while welfare provision and material storage had to be managed around multiple work areas progressing at the same time.

Combined with a complex bespoke design, it meant detailed planning was needed throughout the programme to keep the different elements moving.

The result is a completely renewed facility that gives Double Six Youth Club a modern, practical base from which to continue supporting young people across the area for years to come.

A great project to look back on, and one we’re proud to have delivered for such an important Sheffield community facility.

Project Complete | Pen*stone Library

We’re pleased to share the completion of our refurbishment project at Pen*stone Library.

Completed in April 2026, the project formed part of a wider investment to modernise and future-proof the building, creating an improved community facility for local residents and service providers.

The scheme included:

▪️ Major building infrastructure improvements
▪️ Refurbishment and improvement works to the roof
▪️ Modernisation of the existing library building
▪️ Improved facilities for community and public services

The building now brings the library and a range of local services together under one roof, including DIAL, the Pen*stone Area Team, the NHS midwifery team, Citizens Advice and South Yorkshire Police's Barnsley West Neighbourhood Policing Team.

We’re proud to have contributed to the transformation of Pen*stone Library, helping to create a modern, practical and accessible community hub that is ready to support the local area for years to come. 📚

From Concept to Construction | Lincoln City FC

Having secured additional works while already on site delivering wider stadium improvements, our team is now bringing the boardroom and hospitality lounge refurbishment at Lincoln City Football Club to life!

These side-by-side images show the original CGI designs alongside the works currently taking shape on site, with bespoke wall panelling, feature joinery and new hospitality facilities now being installed.

The finished space will provide a premium environment for directors, guests and sponsors ahead of the new season.

We're looking forward to sharing the completed transformation in the coming weeks.

We’re pleased to share the latest progress from our project at the Support Dogs facility. 🐾

Despite some challenging weather conditions at the start of the programme back in January, works have continued to move forward at pace and the external package is now nearing completion.

Key milestones achieved so far include:

◼ Asbestos removal of the existing sawtooth roof
◼ Completion of the new sawtooth roof installation
◼ Completion of the flat roof replacement
◼ Completion of the external cladding works

Phase 1 has focused on transforming the building envelope and creating a safe, secure, and future-ready facility for the next stages of development.

It’s great to see the scale of progress from above, with our latest drone footage highlighting just how far the project has come in recent months.

We’re proud to be supporting the long-term vision for the site and look forward to sharing further updates as works continue.

Project Complete | NAVE Building, Barnsley

We’re pleased to share the completion of Phase 1 conservation works at the NAVE Building in Barnsley.

This specialist heritage conservation project involved the complete reroofing of the property, alongside the renovation and replacement of existing sash windows on a building believed to be 150 years old!

The works included:
▪️ Removal and reinstatement of the original diminishing Westmorland natural slate roof covering
▪️ Reclaiming and reusing existing natural slate where suitable
▪️ Installation of acoustic insulation beneath the roof covering
▪️ Traditional lead valleys throughout the reroofing works
▪️ Specialist roofing works to the bell tower
▪️ Traditional cast iron guttering
▪️ Stonework fabric repairs
▪️ Refurbishment, renovation and replacement of sash windows
▪️ Temporary sheltered roof scaffold to protect the building during works

Delivered on a restricted town centre site, the project required careful planning, coordination and a heritage-led approach throughout.

Our team worked to preserve the original character of the building while improving its long-term condition, thermal performance and acoustic performance for future use.

We’re proud to have delivered a specialist conservation project that combines traditional craftsmanship, careful coordination and practical performance improvements for this important historic building. 🙏

Three peaks. 24 miles. Challenge completed. 🏔️

Last week, members of the Creative Building Projects team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of Support Dogs

The team completed the 24-mile route, including 1,585m of ascent, in 11 hours and 30 minutes.

From the cold and wind of the first peak, to the warmer conditions on peak two and the final scramble up peak three, it was a huge effort from everyone involved.

After a tough start, belief took over and the team pushed on to complete the challenge together. 🙏

Most importantly, we’ve now raised over £2,200 for Support Dogs, a Sheffield-based charity that trains specialist assistance dogs for people with autism, epilepsy and physical disabilities.

A massive well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the team so far. 💪

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 | 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵

We’re pleased to share the completion of our project at Waingroves Methodist Church in Ripley.

This 12-week programme involved the construction of a rear single-storey independent annex extension, designed to improve accessibility, functionality, and everyday use of the church building.

The new extension provides:
▪️ Disabled access
▪️ Kitchen facilities
▪️ Toilet facilities
▪️ A prayer room
▪️ Additional storage space
▪️ A direct link into the main church building

As part of the wider works, our team also completed external improvements, including EV charging works and car park line marking.

Delivered during the winter months and within a live environment, the project required careful planning, coordination, and consideration to ensure the church could continue operating safely throughout the build.

We’re proud to have delivered the scheme in 12 weeks and on budget, creating a practical and accessible new space that supports the church and its community for years to come. 🙏

Next Friday, members of the Creative Building Projects team will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. 🏔️

This year, we're doing it all over again to help raise funds for Support Dogs, a charity that trains specialist assistance dogs for people with autism, epilepsy, and physical disabilities.
