This is peak Nether Edge Victoriana, The scale and details are just stunning,
I love projects that ask a little more of me, like having to make a run of skirting to match the original, makes for a seamless blend from the old into the new.
And a gentle restoration of the fabulous original Mahogany fire surround to complete the project.

Rolling back the Years

I’ve had the pleasure of restoring this beautiful original 1904 Staircase this past two weeks,
It was very loose and had a lot of unsettling movement but was in exquisite condition having never been painted or altered in its long 121 year life,
Careful cleaning, tightening of all the joints and repairs, before French polishing to reveal the natural beauty of the Mahogany Handrail and Newell posts,
I also added Wainscoting through the Hall, stairs and landing, to restore a bit more glamour and originality.
