Its always interesting when im dealing with cockroaches to return for the first follow up visit to see just how many are on the monitors/traps and how many dead ones are laying around after consuming the insecticide left for them. These pictures are from a one bedroom apartment!. The control program is now fully underway and before long the landlord will be able to rent the property out again.

The first notification that a recent customer of mine had that rodents were present was a odour from under the kitchen units and the dishwasher stopped working. Further thorough investigations revealed the entry point which was repaired and the explanation as to why the Dishwater wasnt working didnt take much finding, rats had been gnawing at the cable and had completely chewed through it. Rats will regularly chew at cables and pipework so if you experience any leaking pipes or electrical failures its a good idea to check for rodent activity and call a professional immediately.

Another one of many wasp nests weve treated recently. This one was slightly different though and because of their nesting habit this particular species is the gardeners worst nightmare !. These were Median wasps and have the habit of building their nests under the eves of property or in hedges, often they're discovered with hedge cutters...which as you can imagine they take exception to!!. Median wasps are slightly bigger than European and German wasps ( the two most common wasp species), one of the easiest ways to identify them is they have more black than yellow on them. What they share in common with other wasp species is that they all chew a thin layer of wood of fences, sheds etc to build their nests with. The small scratches you often see on fences pictured below is a sure sign theres a nest nearby

The wasp nests are currently rapidly growing in size with this warm weather we're experiencing. This one was just above the client's bay window of their bedroom and they could be heard through the ceiling of the bedroom. I treated this quickly and professionally much to the clients delight. If you see wasps flying in and out of any small gaps on your property please dont hesitate to call me asap.

The warm weather certainly brings the biting insects out to play!. One of the most troublesome is the mosquito. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water and quite often its the smallest bodies of water they use, dumped used tyres, water butts, slightly blocked guttering etc can all be havens for their eggs and larvae. The eggs look like small greyish black rafts and the larvae a long slim almost worm shaped body that can often be seen hanging just under the waters surface. If you see anything like this or indeed youre getting bitten when sitting outside please dont hesitate to contact me.

Today I visited a client to sort a severe clothes moths infestation out. The moths or more precisely their larvae had eaten patches of the wool carpet bare in places. The fact it was wool is vitally important as moth larvae only feed on natural fibres such as wool, fur, feather etc..a multi method treatment was carried to successfully eradicate the adult moths, larvae and eggs. I always find it fascinating that something so small can cause so much damage!.

The attached video is a bumble bee nest I came across when clearing some rubbish. Please, please share this far and wide. It shows just how docile and unlikely to sting bumblebees are. Facebook groups seem full of people at the moment wanting to get rid of them and its completely unnecessary. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AT ALL ANYONE SHOULD KILL BUMBLEBEES, occasionally they unfortunately need relocating but never destroying. Thank you.

The wasp season is now getting underway..Here's one that we removed from under a child's climbing frame today. Its awful to think what could've happened had the homeowner not found this before kids had started playing on it. Should you suspect you have a wasp nest please contact me on here or by calling 07714794755 for a fast professional service.
