Thinking about extending your home? Here's where to start.
Most people begin by asking "how much will it cost?"
The right first step is getting clear on what you actually need.
1. Know your "why" and your budget. More space, more light, a better flow? Set a realistic budget with
a contingency.
2. Check planning. Some extensions fall under permitted development; others need full planning permission.
3. Get proper drawings. An architect or designer turns ideas into plans you can price accurately.
4. Plan for Building Regulations, and a Party Wall agreement if you share a wall with a neighbour.
5. Talk to a builder early. We can flag cost and buildability issues before they're designed in.
