It’s been another busy month here at GJB Security and Alarms, carrying out annual alarm servicing for both new and existing clients, as well as providing quotations for new intruder alarm installations.

A professionally serviced alarm system helps ensure your security remains reliable all year round. As part of every service, we:

✅ Test the standby battery to ensure the system continues to operate during a mains power failure
✅ Carry out a full walk test on all detection devices
✅ Check the operation of internal and external sounders
✅ Inspect the overall condition and performance of the system

Our annual alarm service is just £85.

If a battery requires replacement, we will always discuss this with you before carrying out any work. Internal control panel batteries are typically £18–£22, depending on the battery size. Wireless control panel batteries and external sounder batteries are priced according to the system requirements, with all costs agreed in advance.

For your convenience, we accept PayPal and BACS payments.

🔧 New CCTV Installation & Alarm Service Completed

Today we carried out a new installation for a client who was experiencing issues with their existing WiFi cameras. The previous system had failed, so we replaced it with a more reliable UNV (Uniview) IP CCTV system.

The installation included:
• 2 × Wise ISP UNV IP Cameras
• 4 Channel Network Video Recorder (NVR)
• 2TB Hard Drive for continuous recording

All cameras were fully networked and configured on the client’s mobile phone, allowing them to view their property from anywhere with an internet or mobile connection, providing added reassurance and peace of mind.

While on site, we also carried out a full service on the existing intruder alarm system, which included:
• Checking and testing the internal backup battery
• Performing a full walk test of all detection devices
• Completing a mains fail test

Although the alarm system is an older installation, regular servicing and maintenance ensures it continues to operate effectively and provide valuable protection.
