It’s often the little things that remind us why we do what we do at Valinor Electrical.

Today, we had a call from a 94-year-old gentleman who was experiencing some faults with his lights and sockets. After getting everything safely sorted for him, we stayed for a chat—and what a conversation it turned out to be.

He shared stories, wisdom, and a truly inspiring outlook on life. Naturally, we couldn’t resist asking him the secret to living such a long and happy life… his answer?

“Red wine.”

And true to his word, he wouldn’t let us leave without a bottle!

Moments like these are what make our work so rewarding. It’s not just about fixing problems—it’s about meeting incredible people and hearing the stories that come with them.

The Lancashire lads packed up the van, filled the flask, and bravely crossed the border into Yorkshire… all the way to Sheffield 😏

This week we’ve been over working for our good friends at QuickStop Metals Ltd at their brand new Sheffield branch – and what a cracking setup it is! 👌

✨ Outdoor Stair Lighting Upgrade ✨

We got a call about some existing outdoor stair lights that had stopped working. After checking them over, we found they were full of water 💧—not ideal for outdoor electrics!

We replaced them with new, properly rated outdoor stair lights and upgraded the setup with wireless switching, so they can now be turned on and off from the comfort of indoors. Perfect for those cold winter nights when you don’t want to step outside just to hit a switch ❄️👌

Lighting with a purpose 🫵

• LED PIR security lights (1 for security before the garden gate, 1 for putting out the bins behind your gate)
• Outdoor Just down light to illuminate your house number for them winter Amazon deliveries
• Spotlight and PIR in the porch to assist with them pesky keys in limited light

Had a few calls from whalley area today, about loss of power in homes and businesses.

Unfortunately it’s Electricity NW who is our DNO (in charge of the local grid)

As Electicans in the private sector we have no authority over power cuts.

We hope it gets solved ASAP especially over the Christmas period.
