A fantastic few days for one our Arboricultural Consultancy team carrying out advanced internal decay investigations on some truly incredible veteran and mature trees within the Bedford Estate 🌳

Using a combination of:
🔎 PiCUS 3 Sonic Tomography (SoT)
⚡ TreeTronic Electrical Resistance Tomography (EMT)
🌲 IML PD400 Resistance Drilling (Resi testing)

Our consultant was able to undertake both repeat investigations to monitor and assess decay progression over time, alongside a number of new inspections to help inform future tree management decisions.

These forms of non-invasive and minimally invasive testing provide valuable insight into the internal structural condition of trees, helping clients make informed, evidence-based management decisions whilst supporting the safe retention of important trees wherever possible.

Some very impressive specimens and a great example of modern arboricultural diagnostics in action.

Another stunning day for the DTE Trees team working high in the canopy across SE London 🌳☀️

Our climbers carrying out cyclical pollarding works to mature London plane trees, with some spectacular panoramic views across the capital from the upper crown.

Pollarding remains an important management technique for many historically managed plane trees throughout London, helping to maintain tree health, structural integrity and long-term retention within challenging urban environments.

Not a bad office view for the day either! 👌

A great DTE Trees compliance and training afternoon today for the team 🌳💪

The session covered a range of important refresher sessions and operational updates including: ✅ Aerial rescue training ✅ Chipper maintenance and checks ✅ Eco-plug installation techniques ✅ Introduction to our expanding arboricultural consultancy services

The afternoon kicked off with a BBQ lunch for everyone before getting stuck into the practical sessions.

Unfortunately, the day was cut a little short for one of our teams following an emergency call out from a London Borough client after a highway tree was identified as presenting an immediate danger to the public!

A good reminder that whilst training and compliance are critical, our teams are always ready to respond when needed.
