Ever wondered what our technicians look for when they’re on site?

There’s a lot more to a pest control visit than simply checking for pests!

When our HF Environmental technicians are on site, they’re keeping an eye out for signs of pest activity, potential entry points, nesting areas, environmental conditions and anything else that could contribute to a pest problem 👀

This video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at what our technicians are really looking out for during a site visit - helping us identify potential issues early and make sure the right control measures are in place.

PEST CONTROL MYTHS: “If you can’t see pests, there aren’t any.” 🤔

Think a property is pest-free just because you haven’t spotted anything? Think again!

Many pests are nocturnal, hide in cracks and voids, or stay out of sight during the day. By the time you start noticing pests regularly, there may already be an established issue.

That’s why professional pest inspections and regular monitoring can be so important. Our technicians know what signs to look for - from droppings and nesting materials to damage, activity and potential entry points 👀

MYTH BUSTED: Not seeing pests doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t there!

Regular monitoring can help identify activity before it becomes a bigger problem 🔎

From assessing the site to installing the netting securely and effectively, our team is here to provide practical solutions tailored to each individual pest control challenge 👏🏽

Myth busters 🚨

Welcome to our brand-new weekly Myth Busters series, where we’ll be separating pest control fact from fiction 🔎

MYTH: “If you remove a bird nest, the birds will just build another one somewhere else.” 🦅

REALITY: Birds can be persistent when it comes to nesting, particularly when they’ve found somewhere that provides shelter, warmth and easy access.

Simply removing a nest without addressing why the birds chose that location in the first placemay mean they return or attempt to build again.

✅ The right solution can involve identifying potential attractants, assessing the site and putting appropriate preventative measures in place to discourage birds from nesting there again.

So, when it comes to bird control, removing the nest isn’t always the end of the story

Follow HF Environmental for more pest control Myth Busters every week!

Think you know pest control? Think again!

There are plenty of myths surrounding pest control, and believing them could leave your home or business at risk of a bigger problem. Here are a few of the most common misconceptions we hear:

🗣️ Myth: If you can't see pests, you don't have an infestation.
🦅 Fact: Many pests hide in walls, lofts, roof spaces, and other concealed areas, meaning infestations can go unnoticed for weeks or even months.

🗣️ Myth: DIY solutions are just as effective as professional treatments.
🦅 Fact: While some DIY methods may offer temporary relief, they rarely eliminate the root cause of the problem. Professional treatment is designed to provide a long-term solution.

🗣️ Myth: Pests are only a problem in dirty properties.
🦅 Fact: Even the cleanest homes and businesses can experience pest issues. Pests are often attracted by warmth, shelter, and easy access to food or water.

🗣️ Myth: If the pests disappear, the problem is solved.
🦅 Fact: Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they're gone. Without proper treatment, many pests will continue to breed and return.

Don't let these common myths stop you from protecting your property. If you suspect a pest problem or simply want expert advice, our experienced team is here to help!
