Due to our continued growth and increasing workload across Northumberland and the North East, Coastal Plastering and Roofing Ltd is looking to expand our team.

We’re currently looking for:

🔨 Experienced Roofers
🏗️ Experienced Scaffolders
💪 Skilled Labourers

We’ve got a busy pipeline of work ahead, including re-roofs, new-build developments, scaffolding, solar projects and commercial works, and we’re looking for reliable people who want to become part of a growing company.

What we’re looking for:
✅ Good work ethic and reliability
✅ Ability to work as part of a team
✅ Pride in the standard of your work
✅ Relevant experience for roofer/scaffolder positions
✅ Driving licence preferred
✅ Good attitude and willingness to get stuck in
We’re looking for people who want long-term, consistent work and the opportunity to progress as the company continues to grow.

🎓👏 DISTINCTION! 👏🎓

A massive congratulations to one of our apprentices Noah, who has achieved a DISTINCTION in their End Point Assessment! 💪

A brilliant achievement and a reflection of the hard work, commitment and effort they’ve put in throughout their apprenticeship. We’re extremely proud to see that work recognised with the highest grade. 👏

At Coastal Plastering & Roofing Ltd, we’re big supporters of the apprenticeship scheme and believe strongly in investing in the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Apprenticeships are a huge part of our industry. Giving young people the opportunity to learn properly on site, work alongside experienced tradesmen and gain recognised qualifications is something we’re committed to continuing as CPR grows.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to Newcastle College and everyone involved in the apprenticeship programme for their continued support, training and guidance. 🤝

We’ve had a great relationship with the college and really appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes to help our apprentices develop and succeed.

🔵A busy couple of weeks for the CPR Scaffolding team! 🔵

A quick look at just some of the scaffolds we’ve erected over the last couple of weeks across Northumberland. 👷‍♂️

It’s been a seriously busy period for the scaffolding side of CPR, supporting our own roofing projects as well as providing access solutions for other trades, contractors and customers.

From straightforward domestic scaffolds through to larger and more complex access requirements, we can take care of the full package — survey, supply, er****on and dismantle.

With our 18-tonne scaffolding wagon, our own equipment and an experienced team, we’re continuing to build this side of the business and take on more work across the North East.

From where we started in 2022… to where we are today. 🚀🏠

When we started Coastal Plastering & Roofing Ltd in 2022, the goal was simple — work hard, build a reputation for quality and create a business we could be proud of.

Fast forward to today and it’s been some journey. 👊

🏗️ Roofing across two housing developments
☀️ Hundreds of solar panels installed
👷 A growing team of 13 staff
🚛 Our own 18-tonne scaffolding wagon
🚐 7 vans on the road
🏗️ Our own cherry picker

There have been long days, early starts, late finishes, challenges, lessons and plenty of investment along the way — but seeing how far CPR has come in just a few years makes it all worthwhile.

And the best part?

We’re only getting started.

Before autumn weather arrives, give an older roof a proper health check. Northumberland’s wetter, windier months can turn small weaknesses into leaks, loose coverings and avoidable damage.

From ground level, look for:
✅ Blocked or overflowing gutters
✅ Debris or signs of wear around valleys
✅ Cracked, slipped or missing tiles
✅ Damaged or lifted flashing
✅ Uneven ridge lines
✅ Crumbling chimney mortar or loose pointing

Please keep checks safe and ground-level only: never climb onto the roof or scaffold yourself. If an area is difficult to see or reach, leave it to a professional. A proper inspection can identify concerns early and help you plan repairs before the weather turns.

☕ DAY IN THE LIFE | COASTAL PLASTERING & ROOFING LTD 🏠🔨

It’s not all just roofing, plastering and scaffolding… 😂

Come along for a day behind the scenes running Coastal Plastering & Roofing Ltd.

☕ First job — coffee. Non-negotiable.
🚚 Down to the unit to get the vans, wagon and lads organised and out to their jobs.
🚨 Sort out a speeding ticket for one of the lads… because apparently that’s in the job description too 😂
📑 Get through some paperwork and general business admin.

Then out on the road looking at upcoming work across Northumberland:

📍 Swarland — fascia renewal survey
📍 Alnwick — leaking guttering & flat roof
🏰 Chillingham Castle — investigating a leaking roof
🔨 Box gutter replacement survey
🚁 Shilbottle — drone roof survey for a potential full reroof
☕ Costa Coffee, Berwick — roof survey
☀️ Scaffolding surveys for upcoming solar installations

Then back to finish the day doing something a bit more hands-on — making lead chimney aprons ready for one of our reroofs in Alnwick. 🔨

Running a construction company means wearing about 20 different hats in one day — organising the team, paperwork, pricing work, surveying jobs, solving problems and still getting on the tools when needed.

And then tomorrow… we do it all again. 😂

A proper bit of leadwork on this one 👌

Making a lead chimney apron from scratch using 390mm Code 4 lead.

Chimney width: 810mm, with 150mm either side, formed and lead welded to create the finished apron.

Traditional leadwork skills, done properly. 🔥🔨

A full roofing package on this property, including a new tiled roof, integrated solar system and scaffolding — all supplied and completed by our team.

The integrated solar panels sit flush with the roof covering, giving a much cleaner finish than traditional on-roof systems while helping the customer generate their own renewable energy.
