Malcolmson Architects

The current directors, Iain and Suzanne Malcolmson, joined the practice in 2006. Andrew Hunter trained as an architectural technician through Shetland College, graduating in 2007, Janice Hamer, our office manager, joined us in 2008 and Colin Sim in 2017. The practice has gone from strength to strength in the past decade to become one of the largest architectural firms in Shetland. We believe careful listening to the client is the foundation of a successful project. Fresh thinking and creativity are injected at the design stage to gain maximum value for the client. The office is committed to sustainable, energy saving practices and innovative design based on experience gained from working locally, on the mainland and abroad. Our aim is to respond to the challenges of the 21st century with buildable and practical solutions to provide places that people enjoy living in. What we can do!
