ACE Lifts Ltd - Lift Servicing - Installations - Refurbishments - Repairs & Maintenance for Lifts - and are still based in Flintshire, North Wales to this day.

ACE Lifts was established in 1988 as Artisan Control Equipment Ltd. For many years we supplied lift control systems to various lift maintenance organisations across the UK. During this time we developed our expertise and produced a number of innovative solutions for the lift industry. Increasingly, Artisan was asked to provide lift installations, lift maintenance, servicing and repair services and

by 2005 this was such a strong part of our business that we renamed ourselves “ACE Lifts Ltd”. Lift installations, maintenance, refurbishment and repairs is the main focus of our business but we also prioritise the manufacture of lift control systems, which puts us in a unique position. Our lift engineers provide maintenance and repair services to ensure lift safety legislation is adhered to. Unlike most of our competitors ACE Lifts can dramatically reduce the lead time for lift repairs and servicing for lifts as we manufacture many of the requisite control components in-house. Benefits of this are passed to our clients in two ways:

1. Reduced lead times - meaning equipment has less down time.
2. Reduced costs - there are no suppliers to manage and no additional overheads to add.

Here's something we're proud of: our apprentices start out in our manufacturing area, building control panels, before they set foot on site.

Lift engineering is a mix of disciplines: mechanical, hydraulic and electronic engineering. We find it's the electronic side that trainees usually find hardest to get their head around, so we start them there. By building controllers first, they learn to read a wiring diagram and understand what's actually happening behind the panel, before they're ever asked to fault-find it on a live lift.

Llion, now in year 3 of his training, has been doing exactly that, building panels in our workshop before heading out on site.

We're growing! In the space of just five weeks, ACE Lifts will have welcomed seven new people to the team 🎉

On 3rd August we were joined by three new starters in the field, including a new apprentice. On 2nd September we'll welcome four more: a Field Supervisor, a Project Manager, a Business Admin apprentice, and an Engineering apprentice.

That takes us to around 55 directly employed staff, all helping us keep lifts moving safely and reliably for our customers across the region.

Meet Jenny, our new Projects Coordinator, who joined us a couple of weeks ago 😊

With our growing workload, we’ve expanded the projects team, and Jenny will be working alongside Adam, David, Gretta and Hussein to help organise our refurbishments and installations.

Jenny brings strong organisational and communication skills, and we’re really pleased to have her on board as part of the team.

Another project well underway✅

We’re just finishing installing this 1500kg goods lift for our long-standing customer Iceland Foods.

This one is a bit different from the norm, designed to suit a bespoke existing shaft, with a 2000mm clear entry (significantly wider than the standard 1400mm opening). The car size comes in at 2000mm (W) x 1800mm (D), providing plenty of space for goods handling.

These types of installations don’t come up too often, but it’s always great to deliver a solution that fits the building and the client’s needs.
