🚧 SEWER RELAY & REPAIR WORKS COMPLETED 🚧

Another challenging sewer repair successfully completed by RS and IOW Drains & Maintenance.

We were called out to investigate a sewer run that was heavily restricted, with large amounts of fat and grease causing significant obstruction to the flow. Further investigation also identified a displaced 15-degree bend, which was contributing to the restriction.

Our team excavated down to the existing pipework, removed the affected sections and pumped out the accumulated water and fat to allow safe access to the sewer.

The damaged sections were replaced with new sewer pipework, with the connections securely patched and sealed to create a strong, watertight repair.

The pipework was then surrounded with pea shingle to provide support while allowing for natural ground movement. The excavation was backfilled and the area left clean, tidy and safe.

✅ Flow tested from the upstream manhole
✅ Dye tested to confirm watertight connections
✅ New pipework installed
✅ Damaged and restricted sections removed
✅ Area fully reinstated and cleaned

🚨 SUNDAY EMERGENCY CALLOUT – SEVERELY BLOCKED TOILET 🚨

Another emergency call-out completed today for a severely blocked toilet.

After an initial attempt to clear the blockage with a plunger was unsuccessful, we used an AquaVac to remove the water and safely remove the toilet so we could investigate further.

We then attempted to locate and clear the blockage using CCTV and mechanical chains, but the blockage was proving particularly stubborn.

Further investigation located an external stack pipe on the second floor. Using safe ladder access, we worked from the top of the stack with mechanical chains upstream into the drainage line.

The pipe was found to be heavily scaled and severely restricted. We worked through the scale, gradually breaking out and removing sections of the blockage until we were able to open the line.

The customer was then asked to flush the toilet, and the remaining blockage successfully washed through the drainage system. 💦

The bathroom and affected area were thoroughly washed down and cleaned, and the toilet and connections were checked for leaks — all clear and left fully operational. ✅

🌙🚧 Late Night Plumbing Call-Out – Leaky Stopcock! 🚧🌙

Another late-night plumbing call-out after a customer discovered a leaking stopcock, which had been causing unwanted water underneath the kitchen kickboards. 💦

We located the external stopcock and shut off the water supply safely before removing the faulty stopcock.

A brand-new stopcock was then installed and the water supply was turned back on. We thoroughly checked the new installation for any signs of leaks and everything was spot on! ✅

No more leaks and, most importantly, no more wet spots underneath the kitchen kickboards. 💪

🚧 Long-Term Clay Pipe Leak Causing Major Damage! 🚧

Another drainage repair completed after a clay pipe had been leaking for years, causing ongoing water damage beneath the concrete.

Over time, the leak had badly affected the surrounding area, leaving the concrete damaged, cracked and starting to slip. 💦⚠️

We broke out all of the damaged concrete to expose the problem properly and carried out the necessary repair to the drainage line.

A new patch was installed into the clay pipe to create a watertight seal and stop the leak at its source. 💪

🚧 Blocked Drain Causing Multiple Toilets to Back Up! 🚧

Another drainage job completed after a customer was experiencing multiple toilets backing up throughout the property. 🚽💦

The blockage was located in the manhole chamber situated in the customer’s driveway. Once we had located the problem, we got the plunger down into the chamber and cleared the blockage.

We then thoroughly jetted the drainage system both upstream and downstream to make sure the line was fully cleared and flowing correctly. 💪

After clearing everything, we checked the flow from all of the toilets in the property to make sure they were draining properly and that the blockage had been completely resolved.

The area was then washed down and left clean and tidy. ✅

🚨 Waiting Downstream for the Big Release! 🚨

A satisfying one today! We positioned ourselves downstream, waiting for the flow to come through after plunging the blockage from upstream.

And then… 💦 this is what came flying through! 😍

There’s nothing better than a nice clean plunge and watching that blockage finally give way and the water come rushing through.

🚨 Now That’s One BIG Blockage! 🚨

Called out to a blocked manhole that was completely full of fat. Once we got to work, this lovely fat sausage slowly started making its way out of the lateral — completely filling the pipe! 😳

Definitely one of those slow, satisfying, ASMR-style clears!

Once the blockage was removed, we:

🚿 Jetted the rest of the lateral
💦 Jetted downstream to make sure everything was clear
✅ Restored full flow
💡 Advised the customer on fat traps to help prevent future blockages

🚧 New Manhole Installed – Easier Access for the Customer! 🚧

This one was all about making things more manageable and accessible for the customer.

The existing manhole was quite large, and the customer wanted something smaller and easier for them to lift and access when needed.

We removed the existing setup and installed a brand-new 600 x 450mm manhole, bringing it neatly up to ground level and providing much easier access.

It was out with the old and in with the new, giving this kitchen a much more modern and stylish finish.

We removed the existing sink and replaced it with a brand-new black sink, complete with a matching black mixer tap. 🖤

To finish the transformation off, we also wrapped the kitchen sides in a smart grey concrete-effect finish, giving the whole area a clean, modern look. ✨
