There has been an increase in service calls for Bed bugs. Hot weather which insects generally do well in and more travel for holidays mean more spread of these nasty little critters. The following may assist in avoiding getting them in your home.
1 . When you arrive at holiday accomodation use a bright light and check the the back of the bed headboard, bed frame and matress seams. If you see live moving bugs or blood spotting around cracks and crevices in bed dont stay- ask for a bug free room and repeat check.
2. Second hand furniture carry out above checks . If a matress loons too good to dumped there may be a reason for it!
3. If you find bed bugs during your stay leave your suitcases and any unworn clothing outside your home. Bag clothing hot wash it and su ject to label tumble dry on a hot heat. Once unloaded place bag used to carry clothes outside in waste bin.
Bed bugs love nooks and crannies in suit cases. Throw cases away or get a pest controller to steam or heat treat the cases.
Prevention is always better than cure!
