🚜 WE'RE HIRING – DRIVER / MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE 🚜

Due to continued growth, Tamar is looking for a Driver / Maintenance Operative to join our team with an immediate start available.

This is a varied, hands-on role working across a range of sites, including:
🌿 Grass cutting
✂️ Hedge trimming
🌱 Strimming
🧹 General grounds and landscape maintenance
🛣️ Kerb edging and site tidying
🚚 Driving company vehicles between sites
🛠️ Assisting with other maintenance and landscaping duties as required

What we're looking for:
✅ Full UK driving licence (essential)
✅ Reliable, hardworking and punctual
✅ Positive attitude and willingness to learn
✅ Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required

No previous experience? No problem! Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Another high-quality fencing installation successfully completed by the Tamar Fencing team at Sherford 3AB.

This project required more than just a standard fence installation. Due to the varying ground levels across the site, we constructed a concrete retaining structure to seamlessly manage the changes in height, creating a smooth transition while providing long-term stability and support for the fencing system.

The works included:
✔️ Installation of premium timber closeboard fencing
✔️ Heavy-duty concrete posts for maximum strength and durability
✔️ Concrete gravel boards to protect the fence from ground moisture and extend its lifespan
✔️ Bespoke concrete retaining structure designed to accommodate the changing site levels, allowing the fence line to flow naturally while maintaining a consistent, professional finish

A great lawn starts long before the turf is laid. One of the most important stages of the process is rotovating and grading.

Rotovating breaks up compacted ground, improves soil structure, and creates the ideal conditions for strong root establishment. Once complete, the area is carefully graded to achieve the correct levels, ensuring effective drainage and a smooth, even surface.

Taking the time to prepare the ground properly helps to:

🌱 Keeping Your Lawn Healthy During Hot Weather ☀️

The recent warm, dry weather can be tough on lawns, but a few simple steps can help keep your grass looking its best.

✅ Water deeply, not little and often
Give your lawn a thorough soak early in the morning or late in the evening. This encourages deeper roots and helps the grass cope better with dry spells.

✅ Raise your mower height
Avoid cutting the grass too short. Leaving it a little longer helps shade the soil and reduces moisture loss.

✅ Leave the clippings
If they're short, leave grass clippings on the lawn after mowing. They'll break down naturally and help retain moisture while returning nutrients to the soil.

✅ Avoid heavy foot traffic
Dry grass is more vulnerable to damage, so try to avoid walking over the same areas repeatedly until conditions improve.

✅ Don't panic if it turns brown
Grass often goes dormant during prolonged hot weather. It isn't necessarily dead and will usually recover once cooler temperatures and rain return.

🌿 Site Progress Update – Wain Homes, Trevemper, Newquay 🌿

A look at some of the ongoing landscaping works at the Wain Homes development in Trevemper, Newquay.

These progress photos show the gardens through the different stages of preparation, from the initial ground conditions to completed lawn areas.

Our soft landscaping works include rotovating the ground to improve the soil structure, carefully grading and levelling each garden to achieve the required finished levels, followed by the installation of premium quality turf to create a clean, well-presented finish ready for homeowners to enjoy.

Alongside the landscaping, we have also installed1.8m high hit-and-miss fencing throughout the development. Each fence line is set out and stepped to follow the natural ground levels, providing a neat, consistent appearance while maintaining strength and privacy. Quality materials supplied by Timberland Landscaping and Building Supplies Saltash.

It's always rewarding to see each phase coming together, and we're proud to be contributing to another quality housing development. We look forward to sharing more updates as work continues across the site.
