beginning of week been raking up and dead hedging with our 18ton hitachi a site that was clear felled ready for replanting this winter then Friday been out with the 2.7ton komatsu flailing off some undergrowth making walk ways in a private wood
Did manage to hook a track off on the hitachi as well

We were out this morning marking up the next woodland, ready for thinning few hundred ton to be cut out and processed into graded firewood. Mainly ash but few dead beech trees as well, we thinned this woodland 4 years ago and left loads of ash trees that looked good but 4 years on and now the ivy has died off lots of hidden surprises.

check your trees specially by public rights of way!

This is why all roadside and footpath trees should be surveyed every 3years

Very tricky and technical job today getting cherry picker in down the side of a house to take down a Scot’s pine tree that had failed a survey on root defect
The tree was over three gardens two of which had no access for a cherry picker so we only had one way in
We cut out some sleepers on our mill to help gain access and after some very careful planning got the kit in and surgery the tree down
