£248,000 LOTTERY GRANT AWARDED!

EXCITING NEWS - GRANT AWARD SUCCESS! Delighted to assist the Church team in securing grant funding for the essential repair and conservation of this significant Grade I listed Medieval building in Salisbury.

Loop Architects are delivering a complex repair project which will remedy structural failure as well as undertaking stone, plaster and timber conservation. With sensitive ecological constraints including barn owls and rare bat species in residence, we now have all formal consents in place. This significant grant award of £248,000 allows us to get this essential repair underway.

Thank-you to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for their tireless work and support in funding important projects that value, care for and sustain heritage for everyone. This work is made possible thanks to the support of National Lottery players.🤞

PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED! Delighted to receive Planning Approval for a modest and sensitively designed residential development scheme for 4 houses on the outskirts of a Wiltshire village.

The site had many issues ....challenging topography, tricky access into the site, as well as proximity to listed properties and other site sensitivities in relation to its heritage setting and landscape character.

As always, we work together with a team of talented consultants to formulate a design response to these challenges and this has resulted in a successful outcome for our dynamic client.

If you are thinking about this sort of development, don't underestimate the value your design team can bring in providing you with the necessary information for approval.

Please check out our website for further information, or get in touch if you have something in mind.

Here's a site photo from a little while back. This is an extensive whole house renovation and extension to a Victorian terrace. This is a very tight site, but we secured planning maximising the space, designing a crisp, modern zinc dormer at roof level that provides much needed additional accommodation for this growing family.

If you need to magic up some more space, think carefully before rushing into building and renovation work. Construction is expensive & tricky and can have unintended consequences, so please seek professional advice as early as possible before you start spending a lot of money.

We have been helping our clients alter their listed house and make it relevant and efficient for today’s modern life.

As well as having a good look on site, we provide a balanced, pragmatic approach to proposals and prepare everything needed to gain consent. As well as drawings we undertake detailed research and prepare written reports to evaluate the heritage impact and make the case for your proposals. This is a Grade II* property and dates back to the 1600's.

Beautiful use of bold colour in Dorset. We love unpicking the evolution and historic development of old buildings. Why might these ground floor windows be set at different heights? Perhaps the far window was once a door way....

Drawings... which gets us THINKING about how to resolve things, working things out. All this interesting stuff helps develop a design approach.
