Preparing the way for demolition at the former St Patricroft Methodist Church in Eccles 🏗️

MPSL has recently prepared a package of detailed drawings to support the discharge of planning conditions and help Stanley Land and Homes progress its development of 30 affordable apartments on behalf of ForHousing.

The work included proposals for the retained Sunday School and Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trust building, with a new gable designed using reclaimed bricks and roof slates from the adjoining building.

We also prepared details for retaining existing architectural features, protecting the adjoining lightwell and sensitively relocating the original 1884 memorial stone within the completed development.

Alongside planning applications and Building Regulations packages, MPSL can prepare the technical information required to discharge conditions, coordinate demolition and enable contractors to progress works on site.

It’s been a busy summer at MPSL! ☀️

Planning applications are going in, site visits are keeping us on the move, and plenty of exciting projects are continuing to take shape.

After working through the recent heatwaves, the office is finally feeling a little cooler too!

We’re looking forward to seeing these developments progress, bringing new opportunities forward and continuing to build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams.

There’s also some big news on the horizon for MPSL — and let’s just say things could soon be heating up somewhere beyond the UK… 👀🌍

We’re pleased to be part of the project team supporting Holker Group’s plans for a major new neighbourhood off Rakesmoor Lane in Barrow.

The outline application proposes up to 370 homes, including affordable housing, alongside 17 acres of open space featuring green corridors, play areas, walking and cycling routes, sustainable drainage and new tree planting.

With significant employment growth anticipated at BAE Systems’ Barrow shipyard over the coming years, the proposals would help meet the area’s growing demand for high-quality new homes while creating a well-connected and landscape-led community.

A fantastic opportunity for Barrow, and one we’re proud to be contributing to alongside Pegasus Group, E3P, Redmore Environmental, Bureau Veritas, SLR Consulting and Mode Transport.

Progress is continuing at Chorlton Grange. 🏗️

It's always rewarding to see a project move from the planning and design stages into construction, with each site visit bringing the vision one step closer to reality.

Working alongside Cube Homes, MPSL has helped bring forward a scheme that will deliver a mix of contemporary town houses, apartments and sensitively restored Victorian villas in the heart of Chorlton.

With the structure of the development now becoming clearly visible, it's great to see the project taking shape and gathering momentum. We look forward to sharing more updates as work continues on site.

As the build-up to the Norway game begins, there’s a lot to admire about the way this team has had to dig in, work for each other and find a way through when it matters.

It’s something that applies just as much to project work.

Every successful project needs a team willing to communicate, support each other, adapt when challenges come up and keep pushing towards the end goal.

Another significant milestone for Phoenix Quarter as the show homes officially open, marking the next chapter in the ongoing regeneration of Pendleton.

We're proud to have played our part in a scheme that is delivering much more than new homes. The development will provide 485 energy-efficient homes, including 30% affordable housing, alongside homes designed specifically for older residents, helping to create a diverse, sustainable neighbourhood for generations to come.

Projects like this demonstrate what can be achieved when developers, local authorities and consultants work together with a shared vision. It's been a privilege for MPSL Planning & Design to contribute to a development that will have a lasting impact on both the local community and the wider Salford area.

Congratulations to Lovell, Together Housing Group, Salford City Council and everyone involved in reaching this important milestone. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with Lovell's Technical and Construction teams, providing technical support throughout the delivery of the current phase and supporting the successful delivery of future phases of this exciting development.
