⚡️ Impossible is two letters too long… Anything is possible! 💡

We were asked if we could install lighting in this newly fitted bar area, but there was one problem — there was no power available from the existing light switch.

After a little head scratching, we came up with a solution. We took a supply from the existing socket circuit, fused it down to 6A and installed a wireless receiver to power the new lighting.

Using the service void behind the cabinets, we were able to route the cables from the lower cupboard up to the lights, keeping everything neat and hidden.

A wireless transmitter was then installed at the entrance, allowing the new lights to be switched on and off from the existing switch position.

The finished result speaks for itself — subtle lighting inside the display cabinets really brings the bar area to life, while keeping the wiring completely hidden within the cabinetry.

A bit of problem solving, a few tricks of the trade and another job completed! 🔧⚡️

☀️ In-Roof Solar PV Installation

We’ve been busy on this large property refurbishment, with the first phase of the solar PV installation now complete.

The in-roof solar system has been installed and integrated into the new roof structure, ready for the slate to be fitted around the panels.

🔨 Phase 1: In-roof solar PV installation
⚡️ Phase 2: Full internal electrical installation, followed by the inverter and battery installation and final commissioning.

We’ll be back later in the project to bring the whole system together and get the property powered up. 🔋☀️

⚡️ EICR & Electrical Installation Upgrade

Following an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), we identified multiple issues with this installation, including a high earth fault loop impedance reading, an outdated voltage-operated trip, an old service cut-out and a mixture of equipment within the consumer unit.

We worked with National Grid to upgrade the incoming supply, including separating the property from the neighbouring supply and providing a new PME earthing connection.

We then upgraded the consumer unit and tidied up the meter cupboard, bringing the installation up to a much safer and more modern standard. ⚡️

Another example of why regular inspection and testing can highlight issues that aren’t always obvious.

We’ve completed the electrical installation for this new extension, including new lighting and electrical alterations on the original house. While also taking the opportunity to upgrade the property’s consumer unit to bring the installation up to a modern standard.

We’ve taken delivery of our new fully electric van, another step forward as we continue to grow the business and look for ways to reduce our impact on the environment.

As an electrical and renewable energy business, it felt like the right time to add an electric vehicle to the fleet — especially with the work we do installing EV chargers, solar PV and battery storage.

We’re looking forward to getting plenty of miles on the clock and putting the new van to work! 🚐⚡️

Garage Power Supply 🔌

Another tidy and practical installation completed for a customer who needed power in their garage, without the expense of a full electrical fit-out.

We installed a 25A supply using steel wire armoured (SWA) cable, clipped neatly along the customer’s chosen route and terminated into a heavy-duty metal socket.

The great thing about this setup is that it provides the power needed now, while leaving the option to expand the installation in the future with additional sockets, power and lighting as the garage develops.

Outdoor Lighting 💡

We’ve just completed this beautiful outdoor lighting project in Fowey.

We installed these sleek Collingwood Lighting Ltd black spike lights to illuminate the steps leading down to the property, creating a practical and stylish finish.

We also installed waterproof switches at both the top and bottom of the steps, making it easy to switch the lights on and off from either end.

Another outdoor lighting project completed, adding both safety and a touch of elegance to this beautiful property. ✨
