A morning well spent 🎙️

It's the question I get asked more than any other. And until now, the only way to get an answer was to ring seven builders and hope three of them called you back.

A real project, mid-build. 👷

We get asked a lot what you’re actually paying for when you buy design work. This is it.

That row of green props isn’t decoration. It’s a temporary works arrangement holding the first floor and the wall above while the opening is formed below. It goes in before the masonry comes out, it stays in until the new steel is bearing properly, and only then does it come down.

Behind it sits the paperwork: a measured survey, a set of drawings showing the steel arrangement and bearing details, and structural calculations issued by a qualified structural engineer. Building Control want to see all of it. So does any builder worth hiring.

That’s our Pre-Build package. £1,950 + VAT. Fixed fee, agreed up front.

Progress on site in Whitchurch 🏗️

Foundations dug and poured this week for this rear extension — great to see one of our designs moving from drawings to the ground.
