What happens in the field ultimately matters to the people laying turf weeks and months later.🌱

For 25 years, we've worked closely with landscapers and our grower partners, giving us a perspective from both ends of the supply chain.

And over that time, turf production has transformed.

Harvesting has become increasingly automated. Machinery is more precise. Advances in irrigation, GPS technology, weather monitoring and soil testing are helping growers make smarter use of water, fertiliser, fuel and other resources.🚜

But the exceptionally hot and dry conditions of 2026 have also demonstrated that there are some challenges even greater efficiency cannot solve.☀️

Growing conditions can influence when crops establish, how quickly growing areas recover, when turf can be harvested and the pressures involved in maintaining consistent quality and availability.

That's why what's happening within turf production matters to the landscaping industry too.

As part of the Harrowden group, we've been looking at the evidence behind those changing conditions and what they could mean for the future of UK turf production and the customers who depend upon it.

The industry has spent decades becoming more efficient. Now the challenge is making sure it's resilient too.📈🌍
