Yr wythnos yma cawsom wahoddiad i fore agored Tŷ Gobaith, hosbis plant yng Nghonwy. Roedd yn agoriad llygad pa mor ddibynnol mae Tŷ Gobaith ar roddion a digwyddiadau codi a***n er mwyn parhau i ddarparu eu gwasanaeth hanfodol i blant a'u teuluoedd. Roedd y lle yn fendigedig a'r staff yn ysbrydoledig. Does dim geiriau i gyfleu pwysigrwydd hosbis fel hyn yng Ngogledd Cymru.

This week, we were invited to an open morning at Tŷ Gobaith, a children's hospice in Conwy. One thing that really struck us during our visit was discovering how much Tŷ Gobaith depends on the generosity of donations and fundraising to keep delivering its vital services to children and their families. The place was incredible, and the staff were genuinely inspiring. It is difficult to put into words just how important a hospice like this is for North Wales.

Then & Now.

A remarkable reminder of how far scaffolding has evolved over the centuries. The first photograph captures the construction of the original bell tower in the 1800s; the second shows our team at work on the restoration of Lle’r Llan, Llan Ffestiniog (formerly St Michael’s Church).

Roofing works are progressing well, with Original Roofing Company Cymru of Blaenau Ffestiniog carefully stripping and reclaiming the building’s historic slates. To preserve the character of the roof, we searched extensively across the United Kingdom’s reclaimed slate market to find the closest possible match to supplement the original material.

The replacement slates were salvaged from a demolished factory in Newcastle, a testament to the enduring quality of Ffestiniog slate. Once exported to buildings projects across Britain and far beyond, these slates remain in exceptional condition today—proof of the craftsmanship and durability that have made them so highly regarded for generations.

Am fore arbennig ddoe yn Ysgol Stryd y Rhos, Rhuthun. Aethom yno i drafod y gwaith sy'n digwydd ar hyn o bryd yn Sgwâr Sant Pedr a'r strydoedd cyfagos a Chae Ddol cyn i'r plant gael y cyfle i fod yn beirianwyr sifil ac adeiladu eu pontydd eu hunain. Roedd y plant yn wych, yn dangos diddordeb yn natblygiadau eu hardal leol ac yn awyddus i ddysgu am adeiladwaith. Dyfodol ein diwydiant 👷‍♀️ 👷

What a fantastic morning yesterday at Rhos Street School, Ruthin. We visited to discuss the work taking place at St Peter’s Square and nearby streets and Cae Ddol before the children became civil engineers and built their own bridges. The children were brilliant — genuinely interested in the developments happening in their local area and curious about the world of construction. The future of our industry👷‍♀️ 👷
