A recent full strip and re-roof completed on this terrace property 👇

The existing roof had reached the point where repairs alone were no longer the best option, so we carried out a full strip and re-roof using as many of the original slates as possible.

🔨 Existing slates carefully stripped and sorted
🔨 Intact slates re-used
🔨 Approximately 20% new slates supplied to replace damaged and broken ones
🔨 New leadwork installed to the upstand details
🔨 Chimney stack repointed
🔨 Chimney crown repaired with new cement
🔨 Existing ridge tiles re-cemented

Traditional slate roofs deserve the right approach, and wherever possible we always look to preserve the original character of the roof while ensuring it remains fully weatherproof.

A recent chimney stack repair completed by The Roof Guy 👇

This chimney stack was in need of some TLC, with deteriorating mortar, damaged flaunching and slipped slates all requiring attention.

Works completed:

🔨 Slate repairs
🔨 Repointing to the chimney stack
🔨 Repairs to the cement flaunching
🔨 Removal of an unused TV aerial at the customer’s request
🎨 Painting to the chimney stack below the brickwork and chimney pots (paint supplied and colour chosen by the customer)

It’s often the smaller maintenance jobs that prevent much larger problems further down the line.

I’ve realised we’ve gone a bit quiet on here lately… and I’ll be honest, it does play on my mind that people might think we’ve gone quiet because we’re not busy or not working

— but it’s actually the complete opposite!

Truth is, when you’re grafting every day, juggling jobs, family life and running a business properly… taking photos and videos sometimes ends up last on the list, i kick myself all the time 🙈

I take great pride in every single job, big or small!!

This one here is a recent little job, a tired old lean-to roof replaced and brought back to life 👌
Nothing fancy, just done properly, neat, and built to last (how we like it).

We’re still very much here, still working hard behind the scenes, still looking after our customers — just not always the best at remembering to hit “record” 😅
