⚡ Outdoor Power & Lighting Installation ⚡

A simple but effective job completed recently, adding power and lighting to an outdoor space.

The customer wanted a practical setup with additional sockets and lighting to make the area more usable throughout the year.

✔ New outdoor power installed
✔ Lighting provision added
✔ Neat surface-mounted installation
✔ Suitable equipment used for the environment

Sometimes it’s the smaller upgrades that make the biggest difference to how a space can be used.

⚡ Electrical Safety Tip ⚡

A tripping fuseboard is often a sign that something isn’t quite right.

While it can be tempting to simply reset the switch and carry on, repeated tripping should never be ignored. Your electrical protection devices are designed to operate when they detect a fault, helping to protect both people and property.

Common causes can include:

✔ Faulty appliances
✔ Damaged wiring
✔ Water ingress into outdoor equipment
✔ Faulty electrical accessories

If your fuseboard is tripping regularly, it’s worth getting it investigated before it develops into a bigger problem.

Stay safe and have a great week ahead! 🔧⚡

✔ Socket installations

✔ Outside lighting installations
✔ Bathroom extractor fan replacement
✔ Cooker supply relocation

No two days are ever the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the job. From diagnosing faults to completing new installations, it’s all about keeping electrical systems safe and working as they should.

⚡ Electrical Safety Tip ⚡

Extension leads are designed for temporary use, not as a permanent solution.

Overloaded extension leads can overheat and become a fire risk, especially when powering high-load appliances such as heaters, tumble dryers, kettles or multiple devices at once.

A few simple checks:

✔ Don’t overload extension leads
✔ Fully unwind cable reels before use
✔ Replace damaged leads and plugs
✔ Consider additional sockets if you’re regularly relying on extensions

If you’re constantly using extension leads around your home, it may be worth having additional sockets installed in the right locations.

Stay safe and have a great evening

⚡ Quick Electrical Safety Tip ⚡

When was the last time you tested the RCD in your fuseboard?

The test button is there for a reason. Pressing it should cause the RCD to trip, helping confirm that it is operating correctly.

I’ve attended a number of properties where RCD testing has identified faulty protection that homeowners were completely unaware of.

It’s a simple check that takes seconds and can help ensure your electrical safety devices are working when needed.

Not sure if your installation is safe or up to date? Feel free to get in touch for advice.

🌿⚡ Garden Electrical Safety Reminder ⚡🌿

With the weather improving and more people spending time outside, it’s a good time to check that your garden electrics are safe and suitable for outdoor use.

Recently I’ve come across a few unsafe outdoor lighting and power installations, including damaged fittings, exposed connections and equipment not rated for external use.

A few things to look out for:

⚠️ Cracked or damaged outside sockets
⚠️ Exposed cables or connections
⚠️ Water getting into fittings
⚠️ Loose or unsafe outdoor lights
⚠️ DIY repairs that may not be properly protected

Outdoor electrics are exposed to weather all year round, so it’s important they’re installed and maintained correctly.

If you’re unsure about your garden lighting or outdoor power setup, feel free to get in touch for advice or a safety chec
