Fixed Hours: 37.5 per week
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp project requirements
Measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, and other materials to exact specifications
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures, such as doors, windows, cabinets, and stairways
Assemble and join materials using nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
Build frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fibreglass, or drywall
Ensure the proper maintenance and use of carpentry tools and equipment
Follow all safety regulations and procedures on-site
Experience:
Proven experience as a carpenter in construction or a related field
Skilled in using both hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, hammers, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
Experience in constructing and repairing structures, including flooring, walls, and roofs
Knowledge of different wood types and materials
Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
Physical stamina for working with heavy materials and on various construction sites
Skills:
Strong woodworking and carpentry skills
Problem-solving abilities when dealing with construction challenges
Proficiency with carpentry tools, including saws, hammers, drills, and sanders
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time
Basic knowledge of framing, drywall installation, and finishing work
Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.92-£15.88 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
