A garden doesn't need to be big to be usable.
This courtyard is a good example. We laid a grey sandstone patio in a random pattern that works around the existing brick raised beds, so the whole space is usable right up to the back wall.
A varied pattern tends to work well in smaller spaces. It feels less boxy than straight rows and sits nicely with older brickwork.
Each slab is bedded and pointed by hand, so it stays solid and level for years.
