A few problems with this ideal logic I attended yesterday, leaking auto air vent, pressure relief valve was passing so needed changing, pressure gauge was not working and the hose to the expansion vessel was completely clogged up causing the pressure to go over 3 bar when the heating was on, the hose is a bit of a nightmare to change on these as the complete return manifold has to be removed,
All now back up and running.

A pin hole in the plate heat exchanger causing the boiler pressure to rise over 3 bar, usually an easy job, but unfortunately this couldn’t be removed in situ as the cold mains pipe run directly behind it, only way was to remove the boiler from the wall and then replace it.
