💧 1,000 LITRES AN HOUR – LEAK RESOLVED! 💧

This customer had a serious water leak losing around 1,000 litres every hour, located right where the existing water supply passed underneath the property.

Rather than taking the new pipe beneath the house and having to remove kitchen cupboards and flooring, we installed a new point of entry using a frost box, along with a new internal stop tap.

This provided a far less invasive solution, keeping disruption inside the property to an absolute minimum.

Despite the mess the leak had already caused, the customer was extremely happy with the finished job and commented on how clean and tidy we left everything. 👍

This customer was having a brand-new driveway installed and made the smart decision to replace their 90-year-old lead water supply before spending thousands on the new drive.
It’s something worth thinking about. Your water pipe may be out of sight and out of mind, but if it’s old lead pipework, replacing it before laying an expensive new driveway could save a lot of disruption and expense later.
On this property, the ground was old quarry land, so impact moling wasn’t suitable and the installation had to be completed using an excavator.
We installed a new water supply and frost box at the new point of entry, meaning the new pipe doesn’t run underneath the property — reducing future disruption and making the supply easier to access.

Another successful leak detection and repair completed! 💧🔧
We identified a leak beneath the customer’s extension, where carrying out a repair would have caused significant disruption and expense. Instead, we located the existing water service in the driveway and installed a new point of entry to a more suitable part of the property, effectively making the leaking section of pipe redundant.
We then core drilled through the property and installed a frost box, completing the entire job in just one day with minimal disruption to the customer.

🏫 PRIMARY SCHOOL PROJECT – COMPLETED! 💧🔧
Another job all done and dusted! 👌
We’ve completed 87 metres of 63mm water main slip-lined inside the existing 4" cast iron main, along with renewing the water service to the caretaker’s home.
Everything has been completed, reinstated and left clean, tidy and ready for the tarmacers on Monday.
It was a really enjoyable project, and thankfully everything went exactly to plan. Even better, the work is expected to save the school around £1,500 a year in water costs 💷💧

🚧 A BIT DIFFERENT THIS WEEK AT JT PIERPOINT UTILITIES LTD! 💧
We’re doing something a little different this week — inserting a new 63mm water main inside an existing 4" cast iron main that has suffered from previous leaks and repeated excavations.
Rather than digging the whole existing main out, we’ve inserted the new 63mm MDPE water main inside the old cast iron, with the new pipe electrofusion welded and jointed back together.
The whole job — insertion, connections, testing and putting the main back into commission — completed in just 4 days! 👌
Not bad at all for a 2-man gang! 💪
Another job completed with minimum excavation, professional workmanship and the right equipment for the job.
