We've recently been granted planning permission for this project.

The existing house is retained, but re-planned and enlarged with front and rear extensions that almost double the property's floor area.

A local vernacular palette of materials has been used, utilising clay brickwork, flint, clay tiles and oak framing.

We have been working with the Community Benefit Society, in discussion with the Parish Council, to create a new community shop and cafe to serve the villages.

The new facility would be attached to the Jubilee Hall as a central hub for the villages.

We worked with some modest spaces in this project, but the result is a stylish and functional home.

The house was extensively re-planned to create open plan living on the ground floor, by relocating the entrance and with a small first floor extension to create space for a larger bathroom and en-suite for the master bedroom.

POCOCKS ROSES

This unique house is complete with the exception of external landscaping, which is ongoing.

It was designed and built to achieve very high environmental performance, with the use a of a super-insulated and air-tight timber frame, PV solar generation, battery storage, air-source heat pump and underfloor heating.

The house has achieved an A-rated EPC and has a carbon dioxide emission rate of just 1.89 kgCO2/m².

We are recruiting!

We are looking for a talented Architect to join our team working primarily on residential projects of varying scale and complexity, along with a mix of work in other sectors. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Architect, registered with the ARB, or a capable RIBA Part III student, and be able to demonstrate strong design and technical abilities.

Working in a small practice you will need to be able to manage projects from their inception through to completion on site.

Experience of working on Vectorworks and Sketchup would be an advantage, although not essential for the right candidate.

AUBURN MERE

A full planning application has recently been submitted for the extension and redevelopment of this care home on the outskirts of Watford, Hertfordshire.

The proposals include a combination of three-storey, single-storey and dormer extensions to the existing building, alongside a comprehensive internal reconfiguration. This will create additional bedrooms, enhanced recreational spaces and improved administrative facilities.

The scheme also repositions the main entrance and driveway, enabling the creation of new secure gardens that provide a safe, accessible and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors alike.

The finishing touches are currently being applied to this project in Romsey.

Through the partial conversion of the integral garage, the removal of several internal walls, and a complete reconfiguration of the layout, we have transformed the property into a versatile home that makes the most of the available space.

A newly positioned entrance has been created, the principal living areas have been opened up and combined, and a new study, utility room, and master bedroom suite have been introduced. The project also includes a full roof replacement, new windows and doors throughout, and comprehensive upgrades to the electrics, plumbing, and heating systems. Externally, a new block-paved driveway will complete this extensive renovation.
