Safe to say our shooting wasn't quite as good as our ductwork, but we were pleased to join Briggs & Forrester Group for their Charity Clay Shoot at Eaton Hall, supporting two vital causes for our sector: the Lighthouse Charity and Construction Youth Trust.

A fantastic day that raised £12,000 to help provide emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support across the construction community, alongside creating opportunities for young people entering the industry.

Working alongside our preferred delivery partner, Swiftline, on an undisclosed site in the Midlands, it's particularly pleasing to see our operatives recognised for demonstrating these standards in practice.

A heartfelt thank you to every company and partner who kindly donated prizes for our raffle at the RDS Charity Golf Day 2026 on 11 September.

The charity raffle was a key part of our fundraising drive in aid of Haven House Children's Hospice. The hospice provides invaluable round-the-clock clinical care, respite stays, and bereavement support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across London and Essex.

A huge thank you to B&C Ductwork Services, Capital Thermal, Southern Ductwork, and THX for their generous sponsorships at the RDS Charity Golf Day 2026 on 11 September at Ingrebourne Links.

Between them, our sponsors made a huge impact across the entire day. B&C Ductwork Services delivered a double sponsorship by backing both the clubhouse bar and an on-course refreshment buggy, alongside Capital Thermal and Southern Ductwork who also sponsored our buggy to keep golfers refreshed across 18 holes. Out on the course, THX brought an extra layer of excitement by sponsoring the Hole in One competition.

Most importantly, their generosity contributed directly to our fundraising for Haven House Children's Hospice, supporting the specialist care, nursing, and emotional support they provide to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across London and Essex.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the RDS Charity Golf Day 2026 in aid of Haven House Children's Hospice.

From everyone who took to the course, bought raffle tickets, and supported the auction, the generosity across the industry was incredible to see. Together, we raised a fantastic total of £15,096.23.

We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at our Essex office (near Harold Wood station).

In this role, you will support our day-to-day finance operations and help keep our business running smoothly across our commercial and project delivery work.

Key responsibilities:
• Input and process purchase ledger
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Weekly subcontractor wages
• Assist with month-end processes
• General finance administration

What we're looking for:
• Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
• Good working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and QuickBooks
• Experience in the construction industry is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a positive approach

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

London Ductwork Services Ltd, trading as RDS, has recertified to ISO 9001. Certificate GB2002859, valid to 26 June 2028, scope covering ductwork and steel fabrication, manufacture and install, following an audit on 16 June 2026.

For a PM or estimator shortlisting subcontractors on a fire-rated or access-constrained package, that scope is the part worth reading twice. It's not a general quality badge, it covers the specific work most likely to go wrong on complex projects.

23 years trading. The audit doesn't get easier with time, and neither does our approach to it.

Most ductwork discussions focus on ventilation. Smoke control is a different discipline, and it carries different consequences when it goes wrong.

It's part of a building's life safety strategy. The ductwork has to perform under conditions general ventilation ductwork is never tested against, and the specification, installation, and commissioning needs to be right.

RDS designs, fabricates, and installs smoke control ductwork to the required standards. If your project includes a smoke control package, contact our estimating team at [email protected].
