EAS UPDATES TO BECOME MANDATORY FROM 1ST OCTOBER 2026...

Are You Ready?

The update to the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) in October 2024 introduced new mandatory compliance for individual competences and the deadline for these changes to be in place, for full compliance, is the 1st October 2026.

With this ultimate deadline pending, you need to ensure that you meet the new compliance requirements, as failure to do so may result in the removal of specific work categories from your business registration.

The UK emergency lighting standards were significantly updated in 2025 to enhance safety, clarify guidance, and expand the scope beyond escape routes to include local area and standby lighting. The 2025 revision of BS 5266-1 replaces the 2016 edition and introduces several major changes aimed at improving safety and compliance in non-domestic buildings.

Do you know the changes? Are you fully trained to install and maintain Emergency Lighting? More importantly, does your Emergency Lighting meet the required standards in the case of an emergency?

We provide the EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Emergency Lighting. View our website www.redfordcharles.com for available course dates and fees.
