The Drainage Man⭐️
I’m the drainage man, out in the rain,
Clearing up blockages again and again.
With my boots full of mud and my hands smelling foul,
I face every drain with a grin and a scowl.
While others stay cosy, warm and dry,
I’m knee-deep in trenches under a grey sky.
Manhole to manhole, pipe after pipe,
Sorting out problems that nobody likes.
I’ve battled the fatbergs, I’ve conquered the grease,
I’ve rescued the toilets and brought them some peace.
When water won’t flow and the drains start to moan,
They pick up the phone and they call my phone.
It’s not glamorous work, but somebody’s got to,
Keep everything moving like drainage men do.
So raise up a pint for the lads in the van—
There’s no job too dirty for a drainage man.
