We’re looking for an experienced self employed carpenter to work with us across Sussex. First fix, second fix, joinery and kitchens, mostly on high end extensions with some new build schemes.

The work on these slides is ours. It’s won Developer of the Year, Sustainable Build of the Year and Best Holiday Let Renovation in the UK. We want someone who cares about the finish as much as we do and notices the details others miss.

You can't always see a leak until you go looking for it.

We started on a refurbishment this week that includes a larger ensuite for the client, and it didn't take long before we found exactly why the job needed doing properly. The old shower had been leaking for a long time, quietly working its way down past the floor and right through the subfloor below. Rather than patch over it, we've stripped everything back. All the boarding is up, the flooring is out, the insulation has gone, and we're down to bare concrete so the whole area can actually dry out before anything new goes in.
It's a good reminder that hidden leaks rarely stay hidden for long. Once we opened things up we also found some brickwork that had been cut back without the proper support in place, so before we build anything new we're making sure what's underneath is sound. That's the bit nobody sees in the finished photos, but it's the bit that matters most.

From here we'll build it back up properly with fresh insulation and screed, then bring in the new sanitaryware for a bigger, better bathroom. The team's put the hours in this week to get it stripped back safely and quickly, and there's plenty more to come as we build it up properly.

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ Ahoy matey!!! Its time to walk the plank!!!

Today the team have been bringing Sedlescombe Primary School boat back from its shipwreck into a pirate ship for the kids to use. The amazing PTA at Sedlescombe have raised the funds so the kids when they come back to school dont walk around it, they can now play on the once dangerous boat

Shiver me timbers!!! Just swab the deck left to complete before its anchors away!!!

After already paying £12,000 for this chimney to be repaired to a local builder only to find its still leaking we got the call to come and investigate. I wont post the pictures of the work we found but lets just say a 5 year old could have done better.

We stripped out the fire wall, installed leak work, new plaster and repointed the chimney.

The new velux previously installed were also removed and installed correctly.

Yes our works were slightly more expensive at £15,000 but this client is now out of pocket a further £12,000 whilst they go through small claims on work with no contract or written quotation

Cheap isnt always the best.

Tips for anyone looking for work
1. Get a fully written quotation
2. Ask for case studies of previous work
3. Ask to see there insurance. Do they have public liability, do they have non negligence insurance, contractor all risk insurance.
4. Always get at least 3 quotes. We know many very good contractors in the local area and would be happy to recommend them
