Progress at Worth Valley 🚧

A look back at some of the work carried out by the team on our Worth Valley project.

James, Tom, Zac and Danny have been busy on site, stripping the ground before installing and welding the new pipeline.

The works also included drilling a couple of shots beneath the roads, allowing the pipeline to continue without the need for open excavation across the carriageway.

A good team effort and some great progress on the job 👏

Did you know…

Some of our jobs, especially when we’re working around existing utilities, we bring in the Vac Ex (vacuum excavator) to safely expose buried services before any excavation continues.

The Vac Ex uses high-pressure air or water to loosen the ground, while a powerful vacuum removes the spoil straight into the tanker. This allows us to uncover pipes, cables and other underground services without putting them at risk of damage.

💧 Why do we use it?

✅ Reduces the risk of striking live services
✅ Protects existing water mains and other utilities
✅ Keeps disruption to a minimum
✅ Creates a clean, accurate excavation for our teams to work in
✅ Improves safety for everyone on site

These photos show the Vac Ex exposing the existing water main and fittings so the team can safely inspect the network and carry out the next stage of the pipeline works with confidence.
