A note to all d i y’ers this is not the correct way to repair an overflow from your tank. Pipe going into tank connector which is broke and loads of filler formed around it to hold it in place then just cut the pipe off and fill it with silicone to attempt to stop it leaking which failed. I asked the bloke how long it had been like that he said he hadn’t noticed anything as he doesn’t use that room oh and he can’t remember who repaired it in the first place. Give me strength some people are beyond help 🤦🏼 how can you not notice that leaking in the bedroom 😂

To everyone out there with boiler problems in this current weather before calling me to come and fix it try thawing out your condensate pipe with a hair dryer or pouring some hot water on it as 90% of my emergency calls are due to this. It will save you a call out fee and I don’t work weekends as thats family time so its no good getting upset with me as i cant drop everything to come out on a weekend. Very sorry for the inconvenience but i’m only a one man band and I can’t work 24/7 as even a super human like me needs a break

Got a call regarding a gas leak yesterday, i told them i was busy and wouldn’t be able to come round until this afternoon. She told me its not bad and her husband had checked around the pipes with a lighter 😳😳 and found nothing (lucky man)i advised them to ring cadent as they would come for free and make safe but they refused as they didnt want their gas turning off🤦‍♂️. On arrival today i did a tightness test and got a 20mb drop in under 5 secs (for those that dont understand that its like having gas coming out of a pipe full bore). On furthur inspection this is what i found. Pipe totally rotted through due to soot on the pipe behind the fire. Wow he’s a lucky man not to end up blowing his house up testing for gas leaks with a naked flame about 12” away from the leak

Be careful who you get to do plumbing in your house, theres a pump for the heating under there somewhere and guess what lucky person has the pleasure of changing it. Great work you complete dick head
