What’s the best flooring for your bathroom?
Porcelain, LVT, click flooring, engineered wood and polished concrete all have their place — it really comes down to the look you want, how the room will be used, and how the floor is installed.
Porcelain is one of the most hard-wearing and water-resistant options, but it does feel cooler underfoot. LVT is warmer, softer and very practical, while still giving a realistic wood or stone effect.
Click flooring can look just as good and is often quicker to install, but it needs a very flat, stable subfloor so the joints stay locked properly.
Engineered wood can look incredible in a traditional bathroom and gives a much warmer, more natural feel, but it needs to be a bathroom-suitable product and installed exactly to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Polished concrete can look amazing in the right setting too, especially in modern homes, barn conversions and new builds, but it needs to be planned and installed properly from the start.
We definitely have our preferences, but they always depend on the style of the bathroom. Traditional spaces often suit wood, patterned LVT or porcelain beautifully, while more contemporary bathrooms can look great with larger tiles or polished concrete.
As with most products, the finish is only as good as the preparation and installation behind it.
