Thinking beyond decking? 👀

We also install composite cladding, which can be a great way to completely transform the look of an existing building, garden room or outbuilding.

It’s low-maintenance, durable and gives a much more finished look than traditional timber — particularly when paired with the right trims and detailing.

✨ Don’t forget the lighting…

Good garden lighting can make just as much difference to your decking at night as the decking itself does during the day.

A few things worth considering when planning a new deck:

🌿 Step lighting – subtle and practical
💡 Low-level lighting – adds atmosphere without being too harsh
🌳 Planting & feature lighting – helps bring the rest of the garden to life

And ideally, plan your lighting at the same time as the decking. It means cables, fittings and transformers can be neatly concealed rather than retrofitted later.

Warm lighting really brings the space to life once the sun goes down. ✨

🏁 Team day started with a bit of healthy competition… 😂

First 15 minutes at South Coast Karting and things got competitive VERY quickly!

Dave took the early lead 🏎️💨 but Leon wasn’t having any of it and managed to steal 1st place in round two!

A fun afternoon getting some of the hardworking Hoben crew together last week away from the tools and office, without decking boards, levels or a wheelbarrow in sight! 👏🍔

Right by the seafront, with views across towards Boscombe Pier 🏖️🌞

The old, tired decking had reached the end of its life, so we removed it and replaced it with new anti-slip composite decking.

A clean, modern and low-maintenance finish, transforming the outdoor space and giving it a new lease of life.

Really pleased with how this one came together.
