It's always great to be part of a team effort, especially when you get to see such a fantastic transformation at the end!

I was recently brought in to help get this property looking its best before going on the market, and there was plenty to get stuck into! 💪

My main job was plastering the ceilings, getting them smooth and ready for decoration. Once that was completed, I jumped in to help with the painting and decorating wherever I could.

From sanding and filling imperfections to spraying all the walls and ceilings, there was a lot of preparation involved in bringing everything back to life. I also gave the windows a much-needed refresh, helping to modernise their appearance as they were starting to look a little dated.

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay to see the whole project through, as I had another job booked in. But that certainly didn't stop the progress!

The owners rolled up their sleeves, threw on their old clothes and got properly stuck in themselves to get everything finished and ready for sale! 👏

And just look at the transformation! 😍🏡

It's amazing what a bit of hard work, teamwork and attention to detail can achieve. A massive well done to everyone involved, especially the owners for putting in the effort to get it over the finish line!

Another ceiling brought back to life 👌

I was asked to step in on this one after the customer had unfortunately been let down by another plasterer.

The existing textured ceiling needed a bit of preparation before it was ready to skim. I knocked back the high spots, scrim-taped any areas that required additional reinforcement, then treated the ceiling and repair area with the appropriate bonding primer/SBR to give the new plaster a solid key.

Once everything was properly prepared, the ceiling and patch repair were finished with two coats of Multi-Finish, leaving a smooth, clean surface ready for decorating once fully dry.

Not the biggest job, but preparation makes all the difference — especially when going over an existing textured ceiling. 👌

Beaver Plastering asked if I could jump on a job and give him and Phil a helping hand with a large ceiling and alterations.

The existing tape and joint had failed in several areas, with cracking and sections of the ceiling starting to sag. We removed the failed tape, added additional screws to secure the sagging areas and reinforced either side of the cracks before applying scrim tape and priming the ceilings ready for plaster.

Once everything was properly prepped and secured, the ceilings received two coats of Multi-Finish, bringing them back to a smooth, solid finish ready for decorating.

We also plastered over an area where an old opening had previously been closed up, along with making good and plastering around a newly formed opening.

A good bit of teamwork getting this one sorted properly. 🤝

Weekend transformation 👌

Another project completed by New Forest Finishes , and Beaver Plastering this time working alongside Fusion build and glaze on a local independent dental practice. Thank you for the help steve as always and giving your weekend up to get it done with me...

With a tight turnaround, we got stuck into this one over the weekend. The walls were dot & dabbed with plasterboard, followed by pink fire-rated plasterboard around the steel beams to meet regulations.

Once all the boarding was installed, everything was scrimmed, beaded and fully plastered, taking it from bare blockwork and exposed steelwork to a clean, smooth finish ready for the next stage of the fit-out.

A lot of work packed into one weekend, but really pleased with how this one came together. 👌

Here’s what I’ve been up to for the last two weeks: a complete kitchen respray 📸

First, I removed the doors, drawer fronts and existing handles. The new handles had different fixing points, so every old handle hole had to be filled, allowed to dry and sanded flush. I then sanded the existing surfaces to prepare them for painting and thoroughly removed the dust.

Next came the masking. The glass, worktops, appliances, floors and surrounding areas all needed protecting before I could spray the fixed cabinetry. I also turned a gazebo into a pop-up spray booth so the doors and removable panels could be sprayed separately.

After priming, I checked the surfaces and sanded between coats using the appropriate grit grades, moving to finer abrasives as the finish built up. Each stage was cleaned down before the next coat was sprayed. It takes time, but that preparation is what helps produce a smooth, consistent finish.

Once the painting was complete, I removed the masking, refitted the doors and drawer fronts, and installed the new handles. The lighter outer cupboards and green island have completely refreshed the kitchen.

A massive thank you to the customers for all the coffees and for being so patient while I took over their kitchen for two weeks. They had to use the utility room and dining room as a temporary kitchen throughout the job. You just can’t rush perfection! They’re hands down some of the nicest customers I’ve worked for, and it’s been a pleasure working with them.

Nice little Saturday job completed for Home Insites South ltd 👌

This one involved making good around the newly installed window area following the installation of new plasterboard and indulation by home insites South ltd

The original wall surfaces were properly primed and prepared to ensure good adhesion, before all new board joints were scrim taped and the area was plastered throughout.

Two coats of finish plaster were applied, carefully worked into the existing surfaces to leave a clean, smooth and seamless finish, ready for decoration once fully dry.

Not the biggest job, but it’s all in the preparation and finishing — making the new work blend into the existing room as though it’s always been there. 👌

Another big plastering job completed last week 👌

I was brought in on this one by Beaver Plastering to help get this large extension and adjoining areas finished and ready for the next stage.

The boarding had already been completed by the builder, so our work involved getting everything properly prepped, beading up all the external corners and reveals before applying a full skim throughout to leave clean, flat walls and ceilings ready for decoration.

We also installed coving throughout, including around the different angles and sections of the extension, giving everything a clean finished detail.

Plenty of meterage on this one, especially with the large open-plan area and roof-light sections, but a great job to get stuck into and another one ticked off. 💪

Big thanks to Beaver Plastering for getting me involved and bringing me in to help out. Always good working alongside another quality tradesman. 🤝

Nothing better than watching it go on when you’ve got the right kit and someone who knows how to use it! 🔥

Getting the material on quickly, evenly and efficiently, ready to be worked and finished off. Spraying definitely makes light work of the bigger areas and keeps things moving nicely on site.
