Our team recently returned to this stunning new home overlooking Uttoxeter Racecourse, giving us the opportunity to capture some fresh photographs of the completed property and the craftsmanship really comes into its own.

Designed to feel timeless rather than simply contemporary, the house combines natural stone detailing, high-quality render and distinctive Dreadnought Tiles roof tiles, including the Club Tile and Fish Tail blend. Decorative roof ridges and Oak detailing add further character, creating a home with a real sense of individuality.

Inside, the 315m² home was designed around modern family living, with four generous bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen and dining space, formal and informal living areas and a substantial triple garage with potential for additional space above.

We were also involved beyond the design stage, providing building support and working closely with the builder BJ Bloor Quality Builders Ltd throughout construction to help ensure the finished result stayed true to the original vision.

A complete transformation in Barton under Needwood.

Set on the edge of a modern estate with open views across the surrounding fields, this home had plenty of potential, but its original layout was long and disconnected, while the exterior lacked the character our client was looking for.

Our brief was to completely reimagine the property, both inside and out, creating a contemporary family home that made better use of its setting without unnecessary structural intervention.

The result is a home with a much stronger sense of flow and purpose. The ground floor was carefully reorganised to create dedicated home offices, a generous utility room, improved circulation and a new open-plan space at the rear that forms the heart of family life. Upstairs, five smaller bedrooms were transformed into three generous, well-proportioned spaces.

Externally, the transformation is just as striking. New brickwork, smooth render, contemporary windows and Staffordshire blue clay roof tiles give the house a fresh identity, while carefully considered detailing adds character and longevity.

A dated and unremarkable property has been completely reimagined into a modern, elegant home, demonstrating just how much potential can be unlocked through thoughtful architectural design.

🏉 Still standing proud

5 years on, and Burton Rugby Football Club home at Battlestead Croft is still looking every bit as impressive.

These recent photographs show just how well the building has stood the test of time - from its distinctive asymmetrical form and bold use of the club’s red and blue colours, to the details that reflect the history and identity of the club, including the proud “1870” on the front of the building.

Working closely with the club, we created a contemporary new clubhouse incorporating a grandstand, function room, bar and changing facilities, while making sure the design reflected the heritage and character of this historic rugby club.

It’s always rewarding to see a building we designed being used and enjoyed years after completion and a great reminder that our work isn’t limited to residential projects.
