It's not just about protecting your home. It's about feeling safe in it.

There's something reassuring about knowing your home is secure.

Whether you're heading off to work, going away for the weekend or settling down for the night, it's one less thing to worry about.

That's what a good alarm system should give you. Peace of mind.

At Alert Alarms, we've been helping families protect their homes since 1984. We're a family-run business, and we understand how important it is to feel comfortable and secure in your own home.

We take the time to understand what you need, explain your options and help you find the right system for your property.

No complicated jargon. No pressure. Just friendly, honest advice from people who care.

💙 Because feeling safe at home matters.

We get asked this most weeks. Usually by someone who's had a parcel nicked off the doorstep, or a neighbour's had a break in, or they're just fed up not knowing what's going on outside their own front door.

Here's the honest answer, no sales pitch attached.

Forget megapixels for a minute. The number one thing that actually matters is whether you can see it, live, on your phone, wherever you are. Not footage you dig through after something's already gone wrong. Live. Right now. On holiday in Cornwall, at your desk, wherever you are.

Second thing: night time is when it counts. Most break ins happen in the dark. If a camera looks brilliant in daylight and turns to mush at 9pm, it's not doing its job.

Third: it's not really about catching someone on camera after the fact. It's about the peace of mind of just knowing. Knowing the kids got in from school. Knowing the delivery actually turned up. Knowing the garden's quiet at 2am instead of lying there wondering.

We've been fitting CCTV across Redditch, Worcestershire and Warwickshire for a long time now. Same faces turning up, same straight answers, no upsell.

"Alert Alarms fitted my mum and dad's system years ago. When I bought my own place, there was only ever one call I was going to make." — just one of the many families we've looked after for years.

If you're thinking about it, give us a call for a free, no obligation look at your place. We'll tell you what you actually need, not what's easiest to sell you.

Things burglars hate seeing... 👀

Most burglars are looking for an easy opportunity, not a challenge.

A professionally fitted alarm.

Visible CCTV.

Clear signs someone's home.

Neighbours who notice when something doesn't look right.

On their own, none of these are a guarantee. But together, they can make your home a far less attractive target.

Have you ever driven away from home and wondered...

"Did I lock the back door?"

Or laid in bed after hearing a noise downstairs?

That's where a burglar alarm makes the biggest difference.

Yes, it protects your home.

But more importantly, it gives you confidence that your property is being looked after, whether you're at work, on holiday or simply asleep upstairs.

Modern alarm systems are designed to do much more than sound a siren. They can detect movement, monitor doors and windows, and even send instant notifications straight to your phone if something needs your attention.

The technology is clever.

Using it shouldn't be complicated.

That's why, at Alert Alarms, we take the time to explain everything in plain English. No confusing jargon. No pushy sales talk. Just honest advice to help you choose the right system for your home.

Because the best security doesn't just protect your property.

It gives you peace of mind every single day.

📞 Thinking about protecting your home? We'd be happy to answer your questions.

Things burglars wish we'd keep doing... 👀

Most of us have probably done at least one of these...

📱 Posting holiday photos while we're still away.

📦 Leaving parcels sitting on the doorstep.

🪟 Leaving downstairs windows open.

🔔 Forgetting to set the alarm.

The good news? They're all easy habits to change.

Let's disappoint them instead. 🔒

Then & Now... A Little Piece of Redditch's Story

Looking at this fantastic photo of Church Green East, it's hard not to wonder what life was like when it was taken.

The street is full of people going about their day. Children stand outside the shops, a cyclist rides past, and local businesses are open for trade, just as they are today.

More than a century has passed since this photograph was taken, but many of these buildings are still standing, each with its own story to tell.

Over the years they've seen businesses come and go, watched the town grow, and adapted with the times. Today, Church Green East is still home to a wide range of independent businesses and professional services, continuing to play an important part in everyday life in Redditch.

We're proud to be spending the day in one of these historic buildings, installing a complete security system, including:

🚨 Intruder Alarm
📹 CCTV
🚪 Access Control
🔥 Fire Alarm
📱 Video Intercom

It's a reminder that while technology keeps moving forward, some things never change. Historic buildings like these are still worth protecting.

As a local family-run business, it's always a privilege to work in places that have been part of our town for generations.

Here's to preserving the past and protecting the future.

Out quoting today and look who we came across…

Postman Pat!

He’s delivering the post.
We’re delivering peace of mind.

Just another day out and about helping protect homes and businesses across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.

Have a great Monday!

We've all changed our routines because of this heatwave.

Windows stay open.

Doors get left unlocked while you're in the garden.

The back gate never gets bolted because you're "only popping back in."

It's easy to get comfortable.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what opportunists rely on.

Stay cool. Stay secure.

The review is made up. The risk isn't.

🏠 Something to think about

Last year, around 4,500 burglaries were recorded across Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

That is not about panic or headlines.
It is about patterns.

Most burglaries are not elaborate.
They happen because something appears easy.
Unnoticed.
Low risk.

One thing consistently shows up in the data and in offender interviews.
Homes with visible alarm systems are less likely to be targeted.

It does not mean burglary never happens.
It means the risk is lower.

Burglars compare what they can see from the outside.
If something looks like it will draw attention, slow them down, or create hassle, they are more likely to move on.

Most people only think about security after something has happened.
The quieter question is whether small, visible measures make a difference before that point.

* Police recorded burglary data for the 12 month period to late 2025 via Plumplot, compiled from official police crime statistics for Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
