Call from customer :
damp upper bedroom wall , even dehumidifier can’t get rid of the damp.

Using my drone to zoom into the stack and pots I suggest the capping cowl is allowing the rain to track back under the cowl and is dripping back into the flue , where there is probably an old nest

That nest is retaining the moisture and is in contact with the bedroom wall causing it to be damp

Issue:
The fireplace in that bedroom was blocked and plastered over years ago, the only way to discover and remove the nest it is to reopen the fireplace

So the customer breaks open the old fireplace , and is immediately faced with a lot of nesting material 👍🏻

Once removed the wall should dry nicely

There’s nothing like an unexpected large birds nest on the last job of the day 😂😫 all cleared and checked with my cctv and brush exits the pot ✅

Here are some chimney stack inspections using the drone , I don’t just use it for chimney stack inspections , if you need your roof checking out for any reason just contact me , it’s cheaper than scaffolding and safer than a ladder , and I send the footage to you when I’m done !

As we head into the more quieter time of the sweeping year, use the spring / summer months to get the repairs done on your stoves , in readiness for September.

This Henley Lincoln 5 had a full brick set and new baffle plate to replace the broken bricks and corroded / holed baffle plate

All rubbish removed from the address 👍🏻

4 cubic metres of logs delivered in readiness for winter ❄️ courtesy of Andy Smith Logs 👍🏻

While I wheelbarrowed them from the drive to the back garden , Mrs chimney Sweep stacked them 💪

I often see CO ( carbon monoxide ) alarms in the wrong locations , I’ve even seen them on the floor and attached to skirting boards.

Use this image to position your CO alarm correctly, it may save your life…..

I had a call from a customer who’s GasSafe engineer wouldn’t sign off her gas fire service due to a blockage , she called me to help, using my CCTV it was identified as a large old birds nest, I removed it with a nest hook , swept it to remove all debris and then confirmed it was clear with the camera , one happy customer , I also advised her that her cowl was for venting a disused flue as well, it can’t be used for gas or real fires

Give me a call on 07979904361 to book in your annual sweep or blockage removal

It is illegal to remove a nest from April 1st to July 31st.

Doing this job I get some of the best office views 👌🏻 albeit a bit nippy 🥶

Need a roof checking? Call me , I can use my drone to record and zoom into roofs to identify issues, and then send the footage to your phone, cheaper than scaffolding and safer than ladders 👍🏻 you can then send the footage to tradesperson to show them the issues
