With BBQ season and camping trips in full swing, it’s worth taking a minute to think about gas safety.

One mistake that catches people out is bringing a used BBQ or camping stove into a tent, caravan or awning. Even after it’s been switched off, it can still give off dangerous levels of carbon monoxide – a gas you can’t see, smell or taste.

Before you fire up your stove, have a quick look at the gas canister too. If the seal is rusty or damaged, it’s best not to use it.

A couple of simple checks can make all the difference and help keep everyone safe while you enjoy the outdoors.
