CoTrain are proud to share that Steven Smith, a Level 4 Civil Engineering Technician apprentice, has recently secured a permanent role with WINVIC!

After successfully completing his apprenticeship with Cotrain, Steven was invited by WINVIC to stay on and transfer into their apprenticeship programme. This wasn’t a guaranteed move. Steven interviewed for the role on his own merit and earned his place through hard work, professionalism, and determination.

A huge well done to Steven on this fantastic achievement, a true example of where commitment and quality training can take you! We look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.

Construction Logistics is vital to the success of any project and adds value in terms of cost, safety, programme certainty and sustainability. However, this important function is often carried out by construction staff with no formal training, whose construction skills would be better utilised in their own area of expertise. A logistics career within the construction industry offers a multitude of pathways for professional growth.

CoTrain, Barnett and Southgate College, CLOCS and Cidori working together are able to offer a new Apprentice standard for Construction Logistics. The apprenticeship duration is 14 months plus 2 months for final assessment.

To enable future success of robust logistics on site and encourage best practice in worker wellbeing, community relations and environmental impact we are appealing to Contractors to make apprenticeship vacancies available for this standard. It is proposed to run a cohort of 16 apprentices in September 2025.
