Summers are changing, and creating natural shade in our gardens has never been more important. We are currently collaborating with our clients' builders on a project in Nettlebed, where we've just installed four beautiful Morus alba 'Platanifolia' roof pleaches. These will form part of a stunning reclaimed York stone patio, providing a natural, living canopy and a cool, shaded space to enjoy throughout the warmer months.

To help them establish and thrive, the trees will be irrigated using a drip irrigation system, an efficient watering method that remains permitted during hosepipe bans.

Having our gardens reviewed by independent judges helps us learn, grow, and refine our craft and when a garden is recognised, it feels like a shared celebration of the ideas, trust, and collaboration that shaped it. If we have planted trees or hedges for you in the last 3 years it’s ok to you to carry on watering with a hosepipe.

We can install drip irrigation systems as part of your project with us. These are exempt from hosepipe bans because they lose practically no water to evaporation or runoff.

Thames Water has announced a temporary usage ban (TUB), more commonly known as a hosepipe pipe, coming into effect on Thursday 23rd July. There are however, some exemptions. New planting and lawns can be watered using a hosepipe for 28 days. New trees and hedging can be watered if planted within the last three years. Drip irrigation systems are allowed and this is something we can install as part of your soft landscaping project. Please let us know if this is something you would like to add.
