What makes a 2.5-tonne excavator one of the most versatile machines on site?

Our latest demonstration machine has just arrived - the Kubota KX027-4.

While compact enough to work in confined spaces, machines in the 2.5-tonne class have become a popular choice for contractors looking for the right balance of power, transportability and versatility.

This particular setup is fitted with a tilting hitch, allowing operators to grade slopes, shape landscaping projects and work more efficiently on uneven terrain.

For arboricultural applications, it can also be equipped with a rotating forestry grab, making light work of site clearance, timber handling, loading trailers and feeding chippers.

It's a great example of how compact excavators are evolving beyond traditional digging duties, with the right attachments helping operators take on a wider range of tasks with a single machine.

What jobs would you put it to work on first?

Great to see Jamie Harvey and JH Contractors featured by Kubota

Hearing how the M6-142's Bi-Speed Turn is making a real difference in the field is exactly the kind of feedback we love to receive.

Thanks for your continued support, Jamie. 🧡

“The M6 is a tractor that keeps delivering,” he adds. “And the Bi-Speed turn is the best feature I’ve ever had on a tractor. This lets me get tight into field corners when hedgecutting, with the security of being able to pull the front end out of a corner using the Bi-Speed function. Given the banks and gradients we work on, this feature is brilliant.”
