🎃 Pumpkin Fact UK Edition 🎃
Did you know pumpkins are technically a fruit, not a vegetable?
They belong to the same family as cucumbers, melons and courgettes because they grow from the flower of the plant and contain seeds inside.
🇬🇧 In the UK, the best time to plant pumpkins is:
🌱 Sow seeds indoors: April to May
☀️ Plant outside: Late May to early June (after the last frost)
🎃 Harvest time: September to October
Interesting fact 👇
Pumpkins need nutrient-rich soil, lots of sunlight and plenty of space for their roots to spread. Invasive weeds and poor soil conditions can reduce pumpkin growth by competing for water and nutrients underground.
This is why proper root removal, composting and soil preparation are so important before planting.
Healthy soil = healthier vegetables
