Love the natural light from your roof lantern, but not the heat, glare or chilly evenings?

Our made to measure cellular roof lantern blinds are designed to make your living space more comfortable all year round.

The clever honeycomb fabric helps reduce unwanted solar heat in summer and retain warmth during the colder months to reduce your heating bills.

With solar powered motorisation and convenient app control, adjusting your blind couldn't be easier. No additional electrical wiring needed.

Beautifully made, professionally fitted and designed to complement your home.

We recently installed this lovely blind for Louise, who was kind enough to share her experience:

"Not only is the quality of the blind excellent, the workman ship, tidiness and communication from Rhys was very professional. We would highly recommend TrueShade Interiors."

It's always lovely hearing feedback like this, and we're so pleased Louise is enjoying her new blind!

Another roof lantern blind fitted in Corby, Northamptonshire, and another lovely review.

Louise mentioned in her review that when they originally had the roof lantern installed, they hadn’t really factored in just how much sunlight, brightness and heat would come through it.

It’s something I hear quite a lot. Roof lanterns look great, but once the sun starts coming through they can make the room far less comfortable than expected.

This solar powered blind has made a huge difference, helping control the heat and glare while still keeping the room looking really smart.

One thing customers always seem to love with these blinds is how well they complement the room. They don’t feel like an awkward add on once fitted properly, they just become part of the space.

They can also be integrated into a smart home setup, with app control and compatibility with systems such as Google Home and Alexa, so you can control the blind without even reaching for the remote.

If you’ve got a roof lantern or skylight that gets too hot or too bright, feel free to get in touch! I can help with manual, motorised, solar powered and smart control options across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.

John was kind enough to leave this after I repaired his motorised roof lantern blind which had stopped working:

“Rhys has been absolutely fantastic sorting out a difficult problem. We cannot praise him highly enough. Communicative, on time and very reasonable pricing.”

He was also happy enough with the repair to take out an annual maintenance package afterwards, which was a lovely vote of confidence.

The fault itself was causing one side of the blind to stop moving. I removed and tested the faulty motor, swapped in the working motor from the other side to rule out a mechanical jam, then checked the 24V supply through the transformer and receiver. That confirmed the original motor had failed.

The new motors have built in receivers, so the old separate receivers were removed. Two new motors, a new remote, some programming and recommissioning later, and the blind was back up and running properly.

TrueShade can help with motorised blind repairs, fault finding, upgrades and new installations.

Another motorised Velux installation completed for Michael and Ann.

These two awkward roof windows were positioned high up in a double height room, so access was far from straightforward.

I supplied and fitted two solar powered Velux blinds, giving them simple remote control without needing any new wiring or having to reach the windows manually.

It was a really enjoyable installation to work on, and Michael was kind enough to leave this review afterwards:

“We have recently had 2 solar powered velux blinds fitted by Rhys, in two difficult places to access. He managed the fitting efficiently and got round all the difficulties. From coming out to quote to installation, Rhys has been professional courteous and informative through every step of the process, and we would highly recommend his services.”

Thanks again to Michael and Ann for choosing TrueShade.

If you have roof windows, skylights, a roof lantern or blinds that are difficult to reach, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to have a look at what’s possible.

A small part of August with TrueShade.

It’s been a really busy few weeks with lots of measuring and fitting blinds, shutters and shading into homes and businesses across Northamptonshire.

We’ve been working on everything from everyday rollers and verticals through to motorised blinds, roof lantern shading and window film, so social media has taken a bit of a back seat lately.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s used TrueShade, recommended us or passed our name on. It really does make a difference to a small local business.

If you’re thinking about new blinds, or have an awkward window you’re not quite sure what to do with, feel free to get in touch!

A lovely motorised blind installation in Fulham, with TrueShade Interiors supporting Herdman Blinds.

We always enjoy being involved in installs like this. Clean lines, smooth operation and effortless light control, all at the touch of a button.

Motorised blinds are a great option for larger windows, hard-to-reach areas and modern spaces where you want a neater finish without chains or cords.

They can also be a brilliant option for roof lanterns, smart homes and rooms where comfort and convenience matter just as much as the final look.

TrueShade Interiors is based in Raunds, offering made-to-measure blinds, roof lantern blinds, window film and smart shading solutions across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.

Hot kitchen? This is where solar reflective window film can make a massive difference.

I recently fitted solar reflective window film for Ilona in Lavendon. During the really hot days, her kitchen was getting so uncomfortable that even making a cup of tea was too much.

The film is designed to reject up to 79% of total solar energy and reduce glare by up to 83%, while still allowing natural light into the room. It also gives the glass a smart reflective finish from outside during the day.

Since having the film fitted, the kitchen is much more comfortable and usable. Ilona was really happy with the result and even said you wouldn’t really know it was there apart from the room feeling much cooler.

It can be a great option for kitchens, conservatories, garden rooms, patio doors and sunny south facing windows that become too hot or glary in the summer.

Awkward windows? No problem.

These full height, split tier made to measure shutters were fitted for Pauline at Yarwell Mill Country Park in just 3 weeks from order.

A clean, timeless finish with great privacy, light control and easy everyday use, while still making the most of that lovely lakeside view.

With the current heatwave, shutters are also a brilliant way to help manage sunlight, heat and glare, keeping rooms feeling more comfortable during the day.
